2 Carat Cup

Posted on 24 April 2008 by BabyReaps

Fool the rest of the office with the 2 Carat Cup. Yes, the handle itself is located a little bit lower than it normally is, enabling your ring finger to slip around it each time you take a sip of your favorite beverage. Good for laughs, but the more sensitive folk in the office will probably think you’re trying to be funny and they might actually come all decked out in their largest jewelry just to prove their point. This will make a very bad wedding proposal to your girlfriend on Valentine’s Day though, since such an event is suppose to be sacred and not funny. The 2 Carat Cup comes in white porcelain with gold or silver colored glaze and Swarovski rhinestone, and retails for $14.99. individually boxed.

Posted on 17 April 2008 by BabyReaps

Gift cards are nothing new, but Target certainly goes the extra mile with their gift cards, especially this Speed Racer themed ones which come with a USB flash drive, making it twice as useful. Each of these gift cards come with a built-in USB cable measuring 1″ in length which can be easily released using a mechanical switch located on the bottom edge. The gift card doesn’t come with much storage real estate though, holding only up to 62.8MB with a whopping 51.6MB of it being filled with Speed Racer promotional materials. Contents within include a PDF coloring book featuring the Mach 5 and Racer X’s vehicles, coupons for Speed Racer toys, wallpaper, videos and even a cheat code for the Wii version of the Speed Racer game.

Dollhouse TV ensures your Barbie doesn’t miss a show

Posted on 11 April 2008 by techiediva

I wish my Dad would’ve been as cool as the guy who built a working miniature TV for his daughter’s dollhouse. Brett Foster built the first working two inch TV for his daughter, so she can watch her favorite toons, but he didn’t stop there. The 1:12 unit features connections in the back so she can also plug in her DVD, or gaming console when she get’s tired of her Barbie. He now sells the TVs online for about $200, and though they may not be HD-ready, they do have a clear crisp picture. Hmmm, I wonder if they’ll work after the DTV transition?

Singgih Kartono Magno Radios

Posted on 30 March 2008 by BabyReaps

How many of you out there still listen to traditional terrestrial radios? If you’re tech savvy and are pretty up to date when it comes to audio players, then the radio is all but extinct to you. After all, with the 160GB iPod Classic boasting more than enough space to store weeks upon weeks of high quality songs, it makes more sense to listen to the songs that you like instead of the random tunes pumped out by the local DJs. The Magno Radio, designed by Singgih Kartono of Indonesia is one great looking radio crafted from sustainable ebony wood, so don’t feel bad about picking one up. In addition, they’re all hand made by Indonesians living in high unemployment areas, so that ought to earn you even more brownie points with Santa when Christmas rolls around. You will be able to choose from three different sizes, with each radio featuring an AM/FM radio, two shortwave bands, and a line-out port for connecting an external audio source. They retail for $200, $250, and $300, depending on the size preferred.

Toshiba’s Designer Phones

Posted on 26 March 2008 by techiediva

We’ve seen stranger things than Toshiba offering a limited edition collection of luxury handsets, but the hoops you have to jump to be among the invitation-only buyers of this handset is what intrigued us.  Apparently, you have to purchase the April issue of some mag called Seven Hills and pray you’re among the lucky 1,000 readers who will get some sort of unique code. Once you get the code and you’re ready to buy, you have to initiate the buying process with a credit card, no cash please. Then you have to wait 30 days for a personalized handmade lacquer box that has Kansai Yamamoto’s imprint to be made.  I’m not sure how they justify the price on the Cosmic Shiner handsets, but if you’re a lover of fashion maybe the fact that it has some designs by Kansai Yamamoto will persuade you. Not much else is known about the expensive $4,000 phone, except that buying one also entitles you to a free membership of some concierge service that makes hotel and restaurant reservations for you.  That’s it folks. That’s how some poor sap will spend his money on a useless luxury phone.

The Runt packs quite a punch

Posted on 20 March 2008 by BabyReaps

The Runt stun gun is proof that something small must never, ever be scorned upon. While it isn’t anywhere near the Taser line when it comes to design and styling, the Runt is more than able to introduce a whole world of pain to whichever creep who wants to have their way with you. Resembling a standard brick adapter, the Runt measures a mere 3.25″ despite boasting the ability to discharge 350,000 volts for a mere $40. Should your budget permit, $40 and $60 will get you 650,000 and 950,000 volts, respectively. Seeing that many zeros behind just made my family jewels shrivel up and hide where the sun don’t shine.
