iSonic rolls out wearable personal displays for the iPod

iPod owners who prefer to watch their video in a personal, private space (especially on long haul flights) will definitely find the two personal wearable displays from iSonic convenient. Known as the Crystal 701 and the Shade 301, both of these are in essence, Myvu devices. They are compatible with the iPod classic, iPod touch, iPod nano and iPhone. The Crystal 701 will simulate a 37″ experience, and comes with a remote control unit, a detachable dock connector cable, 640 x 480 video output and USB connectivity. As for the Shade 301, you get a lower resolution of 320 x 240, making you feel as though you’re right in front of a 27″ display. Other than that, the remaining specifications are equal to the Crystal 701. The Crystal 701 and the Shade 301 will retail for €280 and €200, respectively.

I’m sure if I were to be born as an alarm clock or speaker system, I would love to be equipped with an iPod dock of sorts. After all, that is what seems to be the rage thees days, and thankfully the GrooveCell need not feel shy in the presence of other gizmos since it does support iPods into its repertoire of functions. This tiny speaker is portable enough for everyday use and on your travels, as it folds up into a compact shape that makes it a snap to pack. It can be powered by AA batteries and is compatible with any device as long as they use the 3.5mm audio standard. There is no word on pricing at this point in time, but it ought to be available in both US and Europe in the near future.

A couple of 500mW speakers ought to be enough for solitary enjoyment, but don’t expect it to bring the roof down anytime soon. Macally has slapped a $39.99 price tag for the PowerTune, which is a bargain IMHO.
