I know that USB ports are somewhat tied down to handbags and high heels - you can never get enough of those. After all, plenty of devices and peripherals these days connect to your computer via USB, which means you ought to be prepared with a USB hub of sorts on your travels lest you find yourself short. I don’t quite agree with the USB Robot 4-Port Hub name given, since it looks more like a headless dog (or any other stumpy, four-legged creature) than a robot. At least the swiveling “limbs” (if I may say so) will ensure that your USB connectors from various peripherals won’t get in the way of each other. When not in use, the USB Robot 4-Port Hub will be able to be kept securely with all the limbs folded down, facing each other so that they won’t be broken off accidentally. The USB Robot 4-Port Hub will come in silver or black colors, retailing for $12 each.

Mmmm, strawberries and watermelon - my favorite red-colored fruits. Of course, taking a bite into this plate will result in a broken tooth if you have brittle pearly whites, since they’re not edible but made out of plastic instead. Oh yeah, did I mention - these are USB flash drives for you to tote your precious files along with you. Other than the designs you see here, you will be able to choose from burgers and cookies if health food is not your thing. Definitely not the thing to serve your guests with as they enter your home. Don’t expect any software pre-loaded with these, they’re just your ordinary, run-of-the-mill USB flash drives with an extraordinary case.

LG seems to have their hands dipped in every part of consumer electronics, and this time round we have the XD1 portable hard drive to help tote around your data in style. It uses 2.5″ hard drives with a SATA II interface, where it is capable of hitting a maximum speed (theoretical) of up to 480 Mbps thanks to the USB 2.0 E-SATA port. You will be able to pick up the LG XD1 portable hard drive in 120GB, 160GB, 250GB and 320GB capacities, and it will come in either a gradient texture of red wine or black pearl colors. There is no word on pricing and availability despite the fact that it is already launched in Korea. What’s your budget when it comes to a peripheral such as this?

Brando has yet another Bluetooth mouse for us - the Estilo GT Bluetooth Mouse. It comes in the form factor of a car, and boasts a couple of LED headlights that actually light up the moment the mouse is powered. You will be able to switch the resolution on-the-fly from 500 dpi to 800 dpi and 1,600 dpi through a rather unconventional method - both left and right mouse buttons must be clicked simultaneously. This reeks of cheap, since any other decent mouse would come with dedicated dpi switching buttons. After all, if you’re in the middle of something important, surely you wouldn’t want to risk mis-clicking either button which could lead to a menu command? The Estilo GT Bluetooth Mouse will cost $38 by itself, while if you opt for the bundle including a tiny USB Bluetooth V2.0+EDR adapter, that will cost you $55.

Wacom’s Bamboo Pen Tablet uses handwriting recognition with your Vista OS (and OS X) to give you a quick and fun way to create. Using the pen, you can use simple taps and touches to utilize the handwriting features, write directly on digital documents, draw pictures or graphs, and even create your personal signature for Emails or notes. The tablet supports widescreen displays and has 512 levels of pressure sensitivity on the pen and eraser. A textured surface makes you feel like you are writing on paper, for a more natural feeling as you scribble.
Using Mac Inkwell or Microsft Windows Vista, with Office 2007, you can handwrite your Emails and quickly go back to navigating your desktop. Set up your shortcuts and use the four Express Keys for scrolling and zooming in on documents as you work. There is also a Touch Ring on the tablet that you can use with your fingers, if you do not want to only work with the pen. High resolution and 21 sq. inches of workspace gives you plenty of movement for even the most important projects.
Read user reviews of the product on the site, too.

The Das Ultimate Keyboard introduces a paradigm shift to most people who are already so used to typing on a keyboard with letterings and marks all over. After all, this one comes with completely blank keys, devoid of any letters, numbers as well as the Windows logo that will certainly go a long way in helping you rediscover those long lost touch typing skills. Granted, the experience will probably be pretty disconcerting at first, but after some time and plenty of practice, you will be able to pooh-pooh at folks who still use a regular keyboard and can’t tell where the ‘W’ key is when blindfolded. Each Das Ultimate Keyboard is equipped with a USB hub as well as a 2 meter long USB cable, offering you plenty of freedom to place your keyboard. It will retail for $99 a pop and is available from today onwards.

Uruguayan leathermaker Begoodesigns have managed to find new ways to re-use old car seats - by turning them into swanky laptop cases. These fashion messages made from recycled auto upholstery not only protect your precious laptop, it also goes the extra mile by reducing the amount of pollution in our environment today. Since laptops, notebooks and netbooks are gaining more and more traction these days compared to bulky desktops, it makes perfect sense to expand the laptop accessory market by introducing newer products that have a positive impact on the environment, not to mention help HUmmer-driving folks alleviate a bit of their guilt when it comes to keeping the earth green. Unfortunately, Begoodesign’s car seat leather computer case isn’t cheap as they retail for $250 a pop.

The new C5 Mobile Clinical Assistant has been released by Motion Computing as a semi-rugged tablet PC with upgrades to the features. They have increased the quality of the connection (high speed wireless) and the internal drive, which is now a larger 80 GB, by adding solid state drive (SSD) option as well. These features allow the medical field to take advantage of the light yet durable technology that’s out there.
This particular tablet weighs around three pounds and is designed to keep the doctor or medical professional using it mobile. The LCD has a splash-proof seal and you can use chemical disinfectants on both the tablet screen and the docking station. Great breakthroughs like this will enable quick response time and information to be used for patients. I’m sure there’s a slight learning curve with some medical assistants but over time you will see computers and systems like this in use at your local doctors office.
With an RFID reader or fingerprint reader, you can be sure that patient data is kept secure and confidential, too. The C5 virtual tour and site will give you more information. Motion is also proud of the new Flex Carry ergonomic style that the C5 and F5 (for field use) offer. Here is an excerpt from the Motion site with more details on the OS:
Motion tablet PCs now ship with Windows Vista® Business, which offers integrated features that improve the tablet computing experience. Benefits include improved handwriting recognition, enhanced searching capabilities, tablet input panel with auto-fill features for email addresses and URLs and pen clicks that enable users to quickly conduct an action with a simple pen gesture.

The Contour Balance Notebook Case by Kensington is the first laptop carry bag to catch my eye in a long time. I hung out on the site inspecting the case, seeing if it might be the one for me. I’m certain that the look is good and as I read the description I feel the bag is probably a very good choice.
It says that it fits most 15″ notebooks which is no issue for me, as that’s what size laptop I have. Some of you might wish that you could carry a larger notebook in this after you see it. It looks comfortable to carry and easy to pack up. The site says “Fits Like Your Favorite Pair of Shoes” and if this is correct, I want one NOW! I love my favorite pair of shoes…
A detachable shoulder strap means you can wear this or carry it, which I like. Versatility is always a plus. Also, there is an external ticket pocket for storing items you need to access quickly, water-resistant materials to keep things dry, a side pocket for a water bottle (who doesn’t need that in our busy world?) and it’s fashioned with a deep quilted, impact resistant compartment for your priceless notebook. I love that it also has a magnetic clasp on the top handles.
And, get this, it’s also recognized by the American Chiroprocatic Association for maximizing comfort while minimizing muscle strain. Affordable and backed by a guarantee, you’ll want to check this bag out.

Darth Vader is one of the most menacing movie villains ever, and even until now, his fabled mechanical breathing sends shivers down most people’s spine. Why not have a piece of this Sith Lord on your desk by picking up the Darth Vader USB hub? Whenever he is plugged into your USB port, he will start to breath, coming to life along with red, glowing eyes (hey now that’s something new!). Not only that, his head is able to move accordingly, but the only thing that lacks is his power to obtain your company secrets by using the Force. word has it that a R2-D2 version will be out sometime next week, but in the mean time, you can place your pre-order on this
Darth Vader USB hub by forking out €43.
