jawbone-colorsI lost my Jawbone headset recently, and guess what? I am running out on May 2nd to get one of these jewel tone beauties. Jawbone Prime is the new Aliph headset with Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR for easier pairing and multipoint connections, Noise Assassin 2.0 with improved noise reduction, and a new colored pattern on the surface for a much improved look. Love it! For a demure look, you can stick Blah Blah Black, Coffee Talk, Going Platinum, but if you want to stand out, check out the stunning EARCANDY collection that includes “Drop me a Lime,” “Frankly Scarlet,” “Yello!,” and “LILAC You Mean It.” I want them all!jawbone-prime-004

What type of blogger are you?

doersDoes the writing on your blog reflect your personality? One way to find out is to visit Typealyzer, a website that uses an automated language tool that analyzes words in your blog then gives you a personality assessment based  on your writing style.  Designer Mattias Östmar of PRfekt has collected text samples from various blogs for the past two years to help him create such tool. To find out more about your persona, you simply type in your blog’s URL in the box, and Typealyzer does the rest.

Of course, I Typealyzed www.techiediva.com first, and the automated shrink said we fell into the “The Doers” category.

The active and playful type. They are especially attuned to people and things around them and often full of energy, talking, joking and engaging in physical out-door activities.

Sounds about right, but hey, why don’t you give it a try and tells us if your blog or twitter match your personality type.

Microsoft releases Arc Mouse

March 10, 2009 by techiediva
Filed under Accessories, Blog, Featured, Gizmos

miceI’m not a huge fan of fancy mice unless they help people avoid carpal tunnel. Crunchgear says Microsoft will be releasing the Arc Mouse later this month in three beautiful colors:  Eggplant, Frost, Deep Olive, and Marine. You could probably guess which one is which. What’s special about this mouse is that it is light, and compact. Here’s what Crunchgear’s editors say about it:

As you can see, the Arc Mouse is so called because it makes a little arc, only coming into contact at the front and back. I think this reduces friction in general, and it saves weight as well, but it also increases the pressure on the two points of contact it does have. This means it requires a light touch, but no major modification of my mousing style was required to use it.

You’ll soon be able to find this great mouse for about $50. Check out CG’s review for a more indepth look at this curious mouse.

Get the Sci-Fi look with Dior Blow Glasses

February 26, 2009 by techiediva

Most of the items featured on Techie Diva are for women, but once in a while we come across fab fashion items for men, and we just have to feature them. Take for example, the Dior Blow shades, which are of the limited edition kind with only 500 pairs going into production. The retroesque,  fluorescent shades don’t include any video or tiny computers inside, but they sure look very futuristic ala Geordi LaForge. Look for sci-fi orange, pink, blue, white, and black editions in Dior boutiques everywhere, and get your pair now before Kanye West wears them out.

Our Energy Information measures power consumption

OLED technology is famous as a substitute for a low-power display option, and it is interesting to see concept designs come up that feature OLED technology prominently. Check out the Our Energy Information (OEI) for instance - this conceptual device by Rocco Avallone is a power monitor that features a colorful albeit low power display that makes reading energy use less of a chore thanks to the use of animations and a fun presentation manner. In addition, it is able to receive community information in order to check out just how much power your neighbors are consuming, leaving you the choice to commend or berate them, depending on the circumstances. I for one, would like to see such concepts materialize soonest possible - it’d make life a whole lot more fun and colorful.

wristbandThis is the type of thing that makes you look like a bonafide geek. The Wrist Band Portable Battery really exists, and is designed to look like a watch or bracelet so you can recharge your  portable gadgets fashionably. It comes with seven types of power connectors that attach to a coiled cable that plugs into the charger.  It apparently charges your other gadgets too, including your music player, and handheld gaming console so you won’t feel like a total dork for nothing.  The wearable rechargeable battery pack provides up to 3 hours of talk time or 8 hours of MP3 use, and will only set you back $25 if you’re lucky enough to get one.  Product Page

I Heart Nerds Plate

Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and if you’re shopping for original stuff for your party or get-together then check out this adorable “I Heart Nerds” plate. As soon as I saw it, I just wanted to get one and fill it up with hearts candy. My dear friend Laura Taylor has quite a collection of handmade ceramics made with food safe, non-toxic glazes. These are one-of-a-kind pieces, that feature fairy tale lovebirds, bluebirds, squirrels, and other whimsical graphics.

She even created the “I Heart iPhone calculator icon” plate for number-loving, calculator-obsessed iPhone geeks. Ah, nothings says “I love you” like a nerdy gift.

Check out Laura’s store on Etsy, and leave her some comments below with some ideas or suggestions. I’m waiting for a Twilight dish, but that’s only because I’m completely obsessed with the books right now. Anyone with me?
