Posted on 09 May 2008 by BabyReaps

So mom has been hankering after you for a cell phone for the longest time now, so what better way to show your love to her than with a spanking new handset from Verizon Wireless? If you happen to have a mom who is fashion-forward, perhaps you can consider the recently released Samsung Glyde or the LG Vehus, where both of them offer some form of touch navigation in addition to support for Verizon Wireless’ multimedia services, including V CAST Video and V CAST Music to keep mom entertained even as she gets her hair done.

Hello Kitty fans, take note!

Posted on 09 May 2008 by BabyReaps

So you’ve just gotten mom a spanking new digital camera, and she absolutely loves snapping so many photos, you start to wonder whether the camera itself is at risk of being scratched or dropped since it sees so much use. Why not get both of you some peace of mind at the same time surprise mom with a simple Mother’s Day gift with this Hello Kitty digita camera pouch? Hakubaphoto has a trio of camera pouch designs, and all of them feature a similar design albeit different color schemes to suit your mom’s taste. Each pouch measures 94mm x 25mm x 64mm and weighs 60 grams, which means only compact consumer digital cameras will be able to fit in without too much of a problem. Larger sized semi-professional digital cameras are out of the question, so let’s not even go into dSLR territory.

Iomega eGo Camo appears

Posted on 08 May 2008 by BabyReaps

No idea whether our brave men and women on the battlefield will be carrying important data on a portable hard drive to war, but that hasn’t stopped Iomega from coming up with the eGo Camo portable hard drive. This USB-powered storage device holds up to 250GB of storage space, featuring a black Iomega potential Grip band that comes in handy to help retain your grip on it, even if your palms sweat buckets naturally. The eGo Camo also boasts similar shock protection technology as found on the standard eGo model, so you can be sure that a short drop to the floor from the table won’t cause any loss of data. The eGo Camo is completed with a woodland camouflage pattern to help you transfer data discreetly in the urban jungle. Hopefully your desk will share a similar pattern, lest your eGo Camo stands out instead of remaining unnoticed in the background. It will retail for $149.95.

Micro Projector works wonders

Posted on 08 May 2008 by BabyReaps

Mention the word projector and you will probably be faced with the image of something large, bulky and heats up way too easily. Thankfully, the advance in technology has managed to miniaturize many devices, including the traditional projector. This diminutive sized projector isn’t exactly the highest resolution of the lot, but what more can you ask for for something its size? After all, it retails for approximately $200 and measures 6.7? x 3.9? x 3.5?, being small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. It will cast an image around 30″ diagonally, anything more than that will greatly degrade the image quality (480 x 240 resolution). Four AA batteries will be able to power it for up to 2.5 hours, so make sure you stock up on rechargeable batteries before picking this up.

iPod Speaker Pillow

Posted on 07 May 2008 by BabyReaps

iPod speakers are often known to be hard products that won’t make for a very good place to rest your noggin’ during those slow Monday afternoons at the office, but the iPod speaker you see here take the road less traveled. It comes in yellow banana, red strawberry, green apple, and orange, er, orange “flavors”, and are dubbed the iPod Speaker Pillow. The whole range works with just about any generation of iPod, and is also compatible with other digital audio players as long as they function with a 3.5mm audio jack. A built-in speaker is located right in the middle, so you can forget about stereo sound with this. Great for short afternoon naps no matter where you are with a little bit of Mozart filtering through the speakers.

V-MODA VIBE Blush earbuds

Posted on 07 May 2008 by BabyReaps

Here’s another Mother’s Day idea just in case you’re running out of time to think of one. V-MODA is offering this pair of drop dead gorgeous earbuds specially for this occassion, being lightweight and able to fit comfortably in your ear for you to enjoy your favorite tunes for hours on end without ending up with sore ears. In addition, they’re noise isolating so you don’t have to worry about snores from your immediate neighbor on a long haul flight interrupting your own rest. They definitely aren’t cheap though, and is much more pricey compared to the Koss version we featured. The V-MODA VIBE Blush earbuds will retail for $101.

Multimedia Coffee Table

Posted on 07 May 2008 by BabyReaps

Most coffee tables are just meant to complement the mood and overall decor of your living room, right? But the Multimedia Coffee Table changes everything, being designed by One & Co , is actually a digital jukebox that has been built right into a coffee table. Guests to your home no longer need to flip through outdated magazines while waiting for you to prepare them some drinks as they can keep themselves entertained by browsing through your music libraries and select their favorite tracks. It can even be connected to portable media players so that music can be downloaded directly onto it. There is no further word on its specifications, but I would say that this will be one of your costlier purchases for the home if you plan to own one.

Waterproof bag for your laptop

Posted on 07 May 2008 by BabyReaps

I know that times are hard with oil surpassing the $120 mark per barrel, and that the economy back home is in tatters, so people everywhere will find just about any excuse that they can in order to save money. For those who tend to be rather clumsy around the work station will definitely have experienced a spill over a notebook keyboard before, and that experience is definitely one to be forgotten. This waterproof “Ziploc”-like bag is a cheap alternative compared to those expensive ToughBooks from Panasonic, and it will be available in either A4 or B5 sizes depending on the size of your budget notebook. I’m making a fair bit of assumptions in this post, but you can pick this up for €13 in Japan.
