Waterproof iPod Shuffle
April 14, 2007 by Nick

In January of this year, I wrote my predictions for the new gadgets of 2007. I mentioned in the article that there would be multi colored iPod Shuffles (#17) and a good waterproof MP3 player (#19). Well both of my predictions have come true, SwimMan has developed the 1st 100% waterproof iPod and headphones. Many of us have seen waterproof cases for the iPod’s. However, this is a completely waterproofed iPod Shuffle from the inside-out. There is no caseing or case and this is only for the 2nd generation iPod Shuffles.

African Blackwood & 18K Gold MP3 Player
March 26, 2007 by Nick

For years Gresso has been known for their African Blackwood collections craftsmanship. Now they have moved into the MP3 player market and developed a series of MP3 players called The Symphonia Collection.
Pictured is the standard MP3 player that has African Blackwood base with front panel made of gold. Recently cellphones and MP3 players have developing into a fashion statement. Gresso is taking their 18K, scratch resistant, gold panel to the next level for mp3 players.
Also, Gresso mentioned that the craftsmanship on the African Blackwood is 200 years old. So with the 200 year old wood and gold front panel the price is going to be pretty high. This product should be on the market later this year for the price between $4,000 & $6,500.

Lacie FireWire Speakers

The power house of external drives, LaCie (pronounced Lacy), has turned over a new leaf into speaker market. They have developed the first FireWire speakers. The use of the FireWire functions under the power of your computer, thus eliminates the use of having an AC adapter and internal batteries. FireWire connection emits a faster and better quality sound over the slow speed of a USB connection. These speakers use FireWire 400 with a 8-watt minimum audio output and eliminates clutter on your desk.
These speakers show a little personality to the retro ways of 1960s and Austin Powers. So I give this product a “Yea baby!”. Neil Poulton was the designer of the sleek black & white design.
Although, if you don’t want use these speakers on your computer, you can use them on your iPod. In this case you will have to buy an AC adapter separately to power the speakers.
The speakers are currently on pre order for $99.

Part 3 (of 3) Switching to a Mac

Part 1 mentioned how you can continue using your Windows skills by installing Parallels or Bootcamp on your Mac. In Part 2, I gave you some easy tips on how to convert yourself by getting used to Mac OS hotkeys. Part 3 of switching to the Mac, is an informational guide of some of the cool applications that are available for your Mac.
I’m going to just touch up on a few of the applications, but Peter Baer wrote a blog entry of tons of applications for a Mac in: Business, Communication, Development, Editors, iTunes/iPod, Miscellaneous, Multimedia, Networking, Organizing, System, Utility, Web, Widgets.
If you have any applications that you like to use with your Mac, let me know! I’m interested in hearing about them.

Heck most of the PC’s you see at computer stores say it is Vista compatible. Let’s look into the features with Vista and see what upgrades you need from your Windows XP operating system. So this article is assuming you have Windows XP, if you have an earlier version of XP, I would recommend checking this out first.

Making the Switch to Mac (Part 1 of 3)

As you may know the MacBook Pro laptops are increasing in sales. Plus the stock of the Apple increased after the release of the iPhone. So it looks like 2007 will be a great year for Apple.
But you may still be wondering what’s the big difference between a Mac and PC? In my opinion, PC’s are great for business, while Mac’s are awesome for creative types. A lot of people are converting from PC to a Mac. I just purchased my first MacBook Pro 17” 100GB 7200rpm with Final Cut Pro right before Christmas. That means I’ve been a Mac user for about a month, and in words of a cup size from Coldstone ice cream, I “love it.” This is the first installation of three articles detailing my experience in switching from a PC to a Mac.

Are you a Lurker?
It is 2007!! The year of Web 2.0, iPhone and more cool gadgets. However it could also be the year of De-Lurking. Friends of mine, Veerle Pieters & Larissa Meeks, agree with me.
What is delurking? Well if you are just coming to this website, read, and not comment. Well that is delurking. It is when people join websites or subscribe to website and don’t participate.
Don’t get us wrong, if you want to just read our posts, that is fine!
That is just like me!! LOL. I’m guilty for lurking!! I am subscribed to a lot of websites and have sooo many profiles. It is just too much! I’m trying to cut down on joining some many website and just pick the ones I like best.
The next few posts that I’m going to write about I would like to hear the voices from our viewers. I will be writing about how hard or easy it is to convert yourself from a PC to a Mac. Stay tuned.
