More often than not, mail order products often border on the unbelievable when it comes to authenticity, making you wonder whether it works as advertised. The Japanese seem to have no qualms about it, as evident by the MPION MP3 player. This unique portable audio device might not come with the big brand name backing of Toshiba or Sony, but what it offers is something special that no other MP3 player in the market can bring you at this moment - it has the ability to give you a facial while you’re listening to your favorite tunes.
Sounds totally crazy, right? Apparently, this 128MB flash based MP3 player comes with a negative ion generator located behind to help clean your skin pores when applied to the face. Apparently, the manufacturer claims that this works far better when compared to the traditional soap and water method. I seriously wonder how effective these claims are. If you’re in Japan and want to try it out, be prepared to part with approximately $170 for it.

Preserving your favorite memories is always a good thing, and with the advent of digital cameras and computers, the film format looks to be entering its twilight years if it hasn’t yet done so already. Casserole Caddy a star this summer

Summer time equals to plenty of time spent outdoors, taking in whatever precious sunlight that you can before clammy autumn makes an appearance with freezing winter following shortly thereafter. Holding a picnic with your close and loved ones in a nearby park is one of the more relaxing activities you could organize, and it helps keep the bonds between a family tight. After all, it is also a ploy for you to disconnect your kids from their constant obsession with this thing called "video games" and "the Internet". The Casserole Caddy is a pretty self explanatory device - not only does it help carry your casserole in a convenient manner, it also doubles up as serving placemats!
The thick material used provides insulation for your casserole when closed, and unfolding it will reveal a summertime tabletop setting. Each $29.98 purchase comes with wooden utensils that can be used as handles, while the inside pocket stores various items such as recipes and extra pot holders. The entire Casserole Caddy measures 12" x 13".

USB flash drive that looks like a lipstick
With more and more women these days carrying all their work home not in a traditional file but on an USB flash drive, it makes perfect sense to come up with interesting designs that will attract their attention, and ultimately, their hard earned dollars. This USB Lipstick drive fits the bill perfectly, as it looks very much like a generic lipstick with its cap on. Taking the cap off will reveal a USB connector, enabling you to hook up this device to any available USB slot on your computer for instant storage.
This is definitely one nifty gadget to have in any handbag, but remember to make backups of the data within every day lest you fall victim to a snatch thief. The USB Lipstick drive comes in only one capacity - 1GB. If only the manufacturer had taken steps to include more sizes to this range. If you are interested in picking up one of this, you can always fork out £19.95 for it. Each purchase comes with a lifetime warranty for added peace of mind.

Celi cellphone purse takes zen approach

The advent of cellphones has given us yet another item to remember each time we step out of the home. At first it was just the wallet, house, and car keys. Today, we have a much longer list to remember, and strangely enough, these very items were meant to simplify our lives. It is pretty ironic as we end up with having more to manage than before, but nobody in their right mind today will leave the home without the three items mentioned in addition to a cellphone, MP3 player, and perhaps even a GPS navigation device.
The Celi cellphone purse understands this dilemma, and thus comes with some extra space to store other ‘going out’ essentials such as keys, ca$h, and credit cards among others. There are several ways to carry the Celi, and they are: - using it as a clutch, hooked up to a belt, clipped onto another bag, or slung over your shoulder. The $60 Celi is made from Turkish leather and comes in 18 different colors and patterns.

Porsche Design P’9521 cellphone looks yummy

The name Porsche is synonymous with one of the best exotic sports cars in the world, so the company is clearly out of its league when it comes to cellphones, or is it? Why not take a close look at the Porsche Design P’9521 cellphone and judge for yourself. This clamshell handset is pretty special as the entire case is milled out of a solid aluminum block, and this fact alone gives it the ground to claim that it has a unique production method for cellphones (rather wasteful if you ask me). Everything about the P’9521 is meant to be functional as one takes a glance at the typography, styling, and colors of the menu.
Not only that, the display can be rotated through 180°, turning the handset into an impromptu digital camera. Other features include a fingerprint reader that does away with the need to remember pesky PIN numbers when you boot up the phone. The Porsche Design P’9521 will be up for grabs this fall in Porsche Design Stores and specialist cellphone retailers worldwide. Too bad it won’t be sold in the U.S., Japan, and Korea for some strange reason.

iPod nano gets knight in shining armor
June 7, 2007 by girlrobot
And that armor in question is made out of titanium, no less. The iPod nano is definitely a thing of beauty, but unfortunately it gets scratched all too easily during use. While we have seen our fair share of iPod cases (for all models) over the years, none of them will be able to hold a candle to the titanium iPod nano case, as this is the big daddy of them all. The four appendages at each corner look as though they are there to hold both parts of the case together, protecting its precious content from knocks, scratches, and nicks.
One thing’s for sure though - while this is one unique looking and tough iPod nano case, it certainly ranks as one of the most expensive to date with a price tag of $818. You could buy up to three nanos with that kind of case and still have some money left over! Would you go over the top and pick up this accessory, or will you just classify this as an unnecessary luxury?

Mosquito Shield keeps bloodsuckers at bay
Or at least, it tries to. Since I personally haven’t tried out the Mosquito Shield, I wouldn’t dare put out a personal recommendation. If you have already tried it, why not vouch for its (in)effectiveness by leaving a comment? For the rest of us, here’s the skinny. The Mosquito Shield is a spell that requires you to chant a 20-syllable mantra before casting. Nah, I’m just kidding. This is actually a portable device that comes with cartridges of Geriniol which is said to be a "natural, chemical-free odor that has been field-tested to repel mosquitoes."
All you need to do is clip it to your belt and those pesky bloodsuckers will avoid you like the plague. No idea if Geriniol will leave an undesirable smell around you though. At $20 a pop, the Mosquito Shield is certainly worth a try if you’re planning to go on a camping trip this summer.

Lock Alarm guaranteed to shock ears

Going on a holiday can be fun and stressful at the same time. While some of us hardly pack anything valuable in our luggage, there are others who want to carry their entire wardrobe with them no matter the destination. For folks who fall into the latter group, it would be wise to keep your luggage as safe as possible, and this is where the Lock Alarm device will be able to help. All you need to do is hook it to your luggage and let it be.
Whenever the cable is cut, or the combination lock is being attacked, or even if the lock experiences a shift in position, the 100 decibel alarm will activate, letting fly an ear piercing sound that will rival even the most professional banshees who haunt castles all over Europe. The Lock Alarm retails for $25, but I’m afraid the big, bold words depicting its function will give the game away to those with malicious intent.

UV Sensor tells you to steer clear of the sun
Oregon Scientific is currently offering the UV Sensor device that tells you the exact moment when you need to get out of the sun. After all, skin cancer and sunburns are definitely no fun despite the pleasures of basking under the solar system’s main star. Splashing a liberal amount of sunscreen all over your body won’t just do, as there are still limits to its effectiveness. This is where the UV Sensor comes in handy - not only does it tell you the amount of UV rays you are absorbing, it also tells you the exact amount of time you can spend under the sun after keying in various information such as the level of SPF in your suntan solution, skin type, and intensity of UV rays.
Additional features include a countdown timer, a digital clock, and a wrist strap. With summer days just around the corner, it makes perfect sense to pick up this $19.95 device.
