Telstra Turbo 7+ USB Series Modem

Posted on 19 September 2008 by BabyReaps

Telstra of Australia has just rolled out a new diminutive, sleek, super-fast Telstra Turbo 7+ USB Series Modem from Sierra Wireless. This highly portable design allows you to carry it in your pocket easily - all too easily, I’m afraid. Folks who are careless like me will probably lose this a couple of weeks into owning one, so you might want to be a wee bit more careful if you’re prone to losing things. According to the official press release, the Telstra Turbo 7+ is theoretically able to hit 7.2Mbps download and 1.9Mbps upload speeds on the carrier’s Next G network, but I’d take those claims with enough pinches of salt to result in high blood pressure. Those speeds can even hit higher figures with a future firmware upgrade. Each purchase comes with an external antenna for better reception, a microSD memory card slot and a 1GB microSD memory card. You can pick up the Telstra Turbo 7+ Series USB Modem for $439, and will have to choose a monthly plan ranging from $59 to $149 to go along with it.
