Americans break record

Posted on 29 August 2008 by BabyReaps

Unfortunately, this record doesn’t really matter in the annals of history, and it surely has nothing to do with the recently concluded Olympics where the track and field team did not do as well as expected. The record I’m talking about here is the SMS text messaging record, as VeriSign concluded that approximately 95.4 billion SMS text messages were sent between wireless carriers in just the first half of the year! This is a new record, and when you break down the numbers, that averages to around 648 million texts in a single day or 42 million text messages just 60 minutes. All I can say is, this trend won’t stop anytime soon so you can expect the record to be surpassed easily in the near future.
