Going green seems to be all the rage these days, so who can fault Triumph International for coming up with this eco-friendly lingerie? The entire lingerie comes with solar panels that will be able to generate power from the sun (man, talk about getting a real tan if you want to juice up its internal battery) which will then be used to power the display located on the stomach area. This display will be able to show custom messages that are entered from a computer, making this one interesting advertising opportunity. The rest of the bra is made out of high quality organic cotton, so this is as green as it gets. Unfortunately, it won’t see the light of commercial retail shelves anytime soon.
I caught up with Yves Behar last night at a special launch event of the new sexy Jawbone headset. Check out the video, and find out what inspired the new sleek design.
Are you having trouble trying to get out of bed every morning? Do you tend to abuse the “snooze” button? The Puzzle Alarm Clock ought to get you up and running in no time, thanks to its unique working mechanism.
This “eye opener” of a gadget is an alarm clock come 3-piece jigsaw puzzle in one. When it’s time to leave your incredibly cosy bed each morning, not only will your ears be treated to a fantastic ringing melody, a 3-piece jigsaw puzzle randomly shoots out. So what you ask? Well, in order to turn off a ringing alarm, you must solve the jigsaw puzzle, assembling it back on to the clock. Seems easy…not! It’s a great way to get up though, as by the time you’ve found all 3 pieces of the jigsaw puzzle and solved it, you’ll be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready for the day ahead.
The Puzzle Alarm Clock is powered by a trio of AA batteries, and you will be able to alternate between 12 or 24 hour formats. It retails for approximately $38 a pop.
Creative might be pretty big on sound card solutions as well as portable media players (nothing compared to Apple’s market share though), but that hasn’t stopped them from moving on towards other peripherals such as webcams as well as digital video cameras. The Creative Vado is the latest to be released from the Singaporean company, boasting integrated software that allows one to post straight to YouTube or PhotoBucket without going through the hassle of video conversion. 640 x 480 resolution
2x digital zoom
MPEG-4 AVI at 30 fps
Built-in speaker and microphone
130 minute battery life
Available in pink and silver colors, the Creative Vado will retail for $99.99.
Design firm Provoke certainly lives up to its name with a new bunch of Nokia concepts known as Express, Feel and Share. These designs will be showcased at this year’s New York Design Week, so it would be great to make your way down there if you’re interested to see the real thing in the flesh. The Express enables you to customize the user interface - hmm, nothing new here, but apparently the form factor is definitely dazzling (good or bad, I leave that to you as fashion taste is always subjective). As for the Feel, users will be able to send tactile simulated touch messages literally - I wonder just how that will work when it comes to sexual harassment suits? Last but not least, we have the Share concept that brings together Twitter as well as Myspace for “like minded” individuals.
Very rarely do initial concept designs end up looking better than the final product, but it looks as though the design folks at Asus have botched it with the Eee desktop equivalent - the Box B202. This highly portable desktop computer will be powered by Intel’s Atom processor and run on an i945 chipset, accompanied by 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a (relatively) spacious 80GB hard drive, and Linux OS. Pretty much like your Eee PC notebook, but in the form of a desktop. Apparently, it weighs less than a single kilogram, which is a feat to be marveled. This won’t be able to let you get your gaming kicks in, but it certainly is good enough for everyday browsing as well as general office tasks. No idea on how much it will cost though.
Having a password protected memory card has its pros and cons - you will be able to prevent unauthorized reading of its files, but on the other hand woe to you should you forget the password being used. After all, writing down your passwords somewhere else isn’t exactly safe since somebody could stumble upon that valuable piece of literature and gain access to your most personal information. The USB SD/SDHC/MMC memory Unlock ensures such a dilemma would never happen if your SD, SDHC, miniSD, microSD and MMC memory cards are password protected as it will be able to unlock your card. It can be used as a standalone device or one that’s connected to the PC via USB, drawing power from there. The USB SD/SDHC/MMC memory Unlock will retail for $15.99.
Folks who keep household plants tend worry and fret over them, especially when taking long breaks away from home. Here’s an innovative method for the Internet generation to make sure that everything at home is all right - it allows you to keep tabs on your house plants via the popular micro-blogging website Twitter, thanks to Adafruit’s Botanicalls Twitter Kit. This unique kit allows your plants to communicate over the web, letting you know whether they are about to wilt from thirst or if they’re feeling exuberant as the cat isn’t around to chew on its leaves. Apparently wired moisture sensors are used to detect the plant’s state of mind, subsequently sending information out to the Internet via an on-board Ethernet jack. This interesting fix-it-yourself kit will retail for $160.
Waking up early in the morning can be quite the impossible task, especially for folks who find that they are natural night owls. Often, we tend to place our alarm clocks on snooze and even turn the whole thing off just to get that extra forty winks, only to realize to our horror that we have overslept and missed yet another important business appointment. The My Sports Clock takes a different viewpoint, as you won’t be able to shut it up unless you throw it against a hard object, where it will only turn off after bouncing. Perfect to get your frustration out on the clock itself for waking you up, but I would recommend not having any fragile objects in the vicinity lest you incur the wrath of the missus for ruining her favorite vase. The My Sports Clock comes in a variety of ball designs.
Fans of the prancing horse will be able to snag their hands on yet another piece of Ferrari-related tech - this time in the form of a blissfully delicious Motorola V9 Ferrari edition. While Motorola’s range of phones are suffering from RAZR fatigue - a term used to describe an over reliance on the original RAZR’s design, making it harder for Motorola to outdo itself in that aspect, placing a Ferrari logo and splashing it with red paint won’t exactly turn the beleaguered company around, would it? What makes this model different from the vanilla V9 would be the inclusion of Ferrari inspired grand prix panels, an overall Ferrari theme and a nice leather case that shamelessly displays the Scuderia Ferrari logo on it. I wonder how much of a premium this puppy would cost. Pretty hot stuff this. Meanwhile, the phone’s other features remain bog standard to the normal V9 Razr version but that in my opinion will not detract Ferrari buffs from going out painting the town red with the red and sexy Motorola-Ferrari V9.
