Sound Asleep pillow to comfort you

Posted on 21 May 2008 by BabyReaps

Forget about speaker pillows that don’t really do much in getting you to catch forty winks. Here’s the Sound Asleep pillow that has been given a memory foam upgrade. It improves upon its predecessor by offering a whole new comfortable listening experience, boasting a built-in covert speaker that is located right within the pillow’s belly itself, distributing the current sound being played through the foam cushioning, all the way right up to your ear. Sounds like the perfect bedroom accessory to have if you want to relax to your favorite tunes without waking your partner up. Of course, you can always wear a pair of headphones, but pillows are way more comfortable, right? The Sound Asleep memory foam pillow will probably retail for approximately £30.

LED gloves that light up

Posted on 21 May 2008 by BabyReaps

Talk about one of the fancier pair of gloves you’ll ever come across - this pair comes with LED lights inserted into the fingertips, creating a truly amazing show whenever you wave your hand around. I suppose it will be an extremely fashionable accessory to wear whenever you go out for dinner with your date, as waving your hand to get the attention of the waiter no longer needs to be a protracted affair even during busy nights. The LEDs themselves are powered by a built-in battery, and another plus point I can think of wearing a pair such as these would be the ability for women to find whatever they want in their handbags when watching a movie. France’s Lux et Deco will be selling these LED gloves for $45 a pair.

Christian Dior phone a reality

Posted on 21 May 2008 by BabyReaps

Guess those Christian Dior cell phone rumors aren’t just hearsay and a case of wagging tongues - the fashion house itself has announced that it will be rolling out an entirely new line of cell phones in order to expand its horizons by going past the traditional fashion business in order to boost sales. Boosting sales in a time where the economic crunch is hitting everyone hard is a noble idea, but I don’t think you would actually sell that many handsets to make a difference to your bottom line if you’re going to price it anywhere from €3,500 and above, depending on the amount of luxurious items such as diamonds you decide to add onto it. Will you be picking up a Christian Dior branded phone, or be more than content with your 3G iPhone?

Samsung Yepp T10 gets special edition

Posted on 20 May 2008 by BabyReaps

I wonder why some companies would like to release special editions of their hardware - I believe this is but a marketing gimmick and ought to be reserved for only beautiful gadgets, and not ordinary gizmos that seem to flood the market these days. I leave it to you to judge whether Samsung’s Yepp T10 is special enough to receive the new “Art Nouveau” design in the form of the “La Fleure Special Edition”. The changes are not only external, as this 4GB digital audio player sports a new GUI to match this special edition’s concept, along with a 2″ QVGA screen, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, Samsung DNSe 2.0 technology, double bass, improved EQ, FM radio, and Samsung Media Studio (SMS). It will probably retail around 90€ for this.

New DS Lite colors coming soon

Posted on 19 May 2008 by BabyReaps

I don’t know about you, but Nintendo surely has the penchant for releasing older gizmos in a myriad of colors, and somehow they seem to be the only one to pull it off successfully without any negativity attached to such a marketing move. The DS Lite is already a runaway success in its original colors, and throughout its lifetime over the past few years, Nintendo has splashed even more paint all over it to come up with various iterations, and that trend isn’t going to stop anytime soon. In fact, two more DS color schemes have been spotted on certain Spanish retail sites. This time round, you will be able to purchase your 4th DS Lite in a deep shade of red and a tropical lime green color, depending on your taste. No idea on whether these will cost extra, but judging by past releases, that shouldn’t be the case.

Philips Smart Handbag

Posted on 19 May 2008 by BabyReaps

Throughout my interaction with the opposite sex, I’ve learned one thing - never to question them about the amount of handbags and shoes they purchase, or risk doing so at your own peril. Philips will certainly win over legions of technologically empowered women with their new Smart Handbag concept that features different compartments for various gadgets. What makes this special is the inclusion of individual electric conductive circuits which will top off the juice of the respective device as and when required. The bag can be charged by hooking up its strap into a nearby power outlet, and the other end of the strap can be fitted with a USB connector, allowing you to access all devices stored within via your computer when properly connected. No idea when this ultra delicious handbag will hit the streets commercially though.

iPod Lamps

Posted on 16 May 2008 by BabyReaps

The iPod Lamp is definitely one of the weirder convergence devices to have been released recently, since it not only a lamp to help you progress in your night time reading, it also helps that the iPod Lamps comes with a built-in iPod speaker dock as well. Whenever your iPod is docked within, you will be able to enjoy your favorite tunes at a level you desire. Sounds like a pretty affordable piece of technology, but it leaves me scratching my head on why it has been accorded a $150 price tag. Interestingly enough, you will save (money in addition to real estate space) a fair bit assuming you pick up an iPod speaker dock and a lamp separately. You will be able to choose from pink, white, black and brown colors.

Christian Dior to release cell phone?

Posted on 16 May 2008 by BabyReaps

Word on the (high fashion) street has it that Christian Dior, the French high-fashion clothing retailer, will be releasing their own branded handset sometime this week. Apparently this potentially glamorous handset will be on sale in most Dior shops within a fortnight after its unveiling. Speaking from a technological point of view, it is a bonus if the handset looks and works nice, but what’s more important are the features within that blend seamlessly with one another, working without a fault. Just like a long lasting and loving marriage, beauty is but skin deep, so hopefully Christian Dior won’t screw up on this one. One thing’s confirmed though - it will come with a fair number of Swarovski crystals adorning the handset.

Safa T-Slide MP3 player

Posted on 15 May 2008 by BabyReaps

Safa of Korea has just launched yet another MP3 player known as the T-slide. This model measures a mere 6.4mm thin, which makes me pretty nervous should I place this in my back jeans pocket. Who knows, plopping myself down on a hard wooden chair might just result in my rear end breaking something inside being that thin. The T-Slide comes with a tiny 1.46″ display at 176 x 132 resolution and packs an integrated FM radio, a voice recorder, pre-loaded games, e-book support, compatibility with Microsoft’s Play-X for 3D sound and 7 band equalizers. Heck, it even does movie playback as well but with a screen that small, I’d use it only for short YouTube clips and music videos as feature length movies are a definite no-no. The 1GB and 2GB models will retail for approximately $75 and $85, respectively.
