Clay consoles now available

Posted on 23 March 2008 by BabyReaps

Don’t you just love polymer clay? Polymer clay artist Lauren of TheClayCollection has come up with extremely tiny versions of the Xbox, it’s more updated brother the Xbox 360, and the classic NES (complete with matching controller earrings) among others. They’re slightly larger than a penny, but there is enough detail and color to tell the difference between the consoles as well as the type. Just in case you’re going to raise a ruckus that Lauren did not make your favorite console, fret not. Lauren is also open to making custom mini consoles, their controllers and even mini-games according to your preference (and wallet). Prices range from $6 upwards.

Check out this Hello Kitty Clock Radio which will add even more pink into your life. At last, you have a device beside your bed which is cute as a button (only for Hello Kitty fans, of course), featuring a Hello Kitty who’s fast asleep while the side of her bed has an LED display which tells the current time. Features also include an AM/FM radio and a large snooze button to help you prolong that sweet, sweet rest during those lethargic Monday mornings where the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. At night, the Hello Kitty Clock Radio’s two rear bedposts function as night lights so that you won’t be engulfed in total darkness. At $40 a pop, this is a highly selective gift to pick up.

Solar Mate Point 5

Posted on 23 March 2008 by BabyReaps

Energy costs are spiralling, and there doesn’t seem to be any end in sight, or is there? The Solar Mate Point 5 helps offset some of your monthly bills by relying on the sun’s power instead, so you don’t have to fork out a penny more throughout it’s lifetime. Being solar powered also has another advantage - you don’t have to worry about tripping all over the garden with unseen wires. The Solar Mate Point 5 lights can be placed wherever you fancy, casting a glow across 9 meters from the source courtesy of its 10 bright LEDs. If you happen to stay in the UK, don’t worry about overcast skies since these panels can help store energy in three of its internal AA batteries even during dull and cloudy days. At £9.99 each, I would say that it is a steal.

Posted on 20 March 2008 by techiediva

Do you find yourself jonesing for a Guitar Hero fix while you’re at work? Activision is about to make all your Rock God/Goddess dreams come true with  the upcoming`Guitar Hero: On Tourgame specially made for the Nintendo DS. In order to work like the real thing, the company teamed up with Red Octane, who developed a Guitar Grip that allows you to hold the DS like a book. The special adapter plugs into your GBA slot, and features four frets, a guitar pick stylus, and uses both screens to display the game. The touchscreen displays a guitar you strum with the pick, while the other screen shows the scrolling notes you have to hit. So far, Activision says 20 songs have been licensed from bands like No Doubt, OK Go, and Nirvana, and they expect the game to be released this summer. No pricing has been announced yet. Source: IGN

SanDisk Shoots for the Eye of the Tiger Look

Posted on 20 March 2008 by techiediva

I’m not sure why many companies have jumped on the USB drives as jewelry bandwagon, but they have, and I certainly don’t mind. What I do mind is USB jewelry that’s both ugly and short on capacity. SanDisk has kept it’s necklace concept very low key, but I managed to find this shot of a necklace some say is made of gold, tiger eye stone, and has a min- diamond on one end. I’m not crazy about the look,  the 4GB capacity, or the price, which was aparently too high to mention.

The Runt packs quite a punch

Posted on 20 March 2008 by BabyReaps

The Runt stun gun is proof that something small must never, ever be scorned upon. While it isn’t anywhere near the Taser line when it comes to design and styling, the Runt is more than able to introduce a whole world of pain to whichever creep who wants to have their way with you. Resembling a standard brick adapter, the Runt measures a mere 3.25″ despite boasting the ability to discharge 350,000 volts for a mere $40. Should your budget permit, $40 and $60 will get you 650,000 and 950,000 volts, respectively. Seeing that many zeros behind just made my family jewels shrivel up and hide where the sun don’t shine.

Portable Oxygen Bar

Posted on 20 March 2008 by BabyReaps

Getting fresh air and enough oxygen with each breath is getting harder and harder these days, considering the amount of industrialization that has gone on in many parts of the world. Never mind, there is always this Portable Oxygen Bar that claims to be able to perk you up without the negative effects of caffeine in your coffee. While you might look pretty weird attaching this to your nose at work, at the very least you’ll be the last one laughing as your oxygen-pumped brain will be able to come up with winning strategies that impresses the boss. Unfortunately, I’m not too sure whether the $660 price tag makes it appealing enough to try out.

Waimea Shower Unit

Posted on 19 March 2008 by BabyReaps

The Waimea shower unit that you see here is slightly different from all the chrome and metal offerings that you are used to, as it uses a mixture of teak and stainless steel to come up with a bamboo-based design, adding an aesthetically pleasing dimension to any bathroom or outdoor shower. There is no word on pricing, but something as elegant as this will certainly not come cheap. After all, turning the faucet on will let you indulge in a somewhat magical waterfall experience, letting you wash the day’s cares and concerns away.
