I envy the Japanese as they always get the best and coolest stuff first before the rest of the world, and sometimes those of us living across the Pacific also never get to see these hit our shores. Sony’s XDV-D500 portable TV could be yet another one, recently released and is capable of supporting 1-Seg recording for up to 10 hours. You get a mobile BRAVIA engine for enhanced TV picture on its 3″ 432 x 240 resolution display. Choose from two colors - white and black. The Sony XDV-D500 is tipped to be released on April 10th this year for approximately $355 after conversion.

Waking up in the morning to get ready for work after a late night is can be quite a challenge, which is why the Clocky alarm clock comes in extremely handy. This little bugger will jump off your nightstand and roll away to hide the moment you hit the snooze button without stopping its incessant beeping. I guess one way to combat that would be to wear a pair of earplugs, but that might result in you getting fired for being late to work for the umpteenth time. Check out other features of this pink Clocky - just in time for Valentine’s!
- Set your snooze time, 0-9 minutes
- Snooze once before he runs away

Looks like Valentine’s Day will be greeted by Mobile Edge just in time with their new ladies vertical messenger bag known as the CuteBug Hipster. Authentic pulp icon images from the 1940s and 50s were used on the bag, along with a pair of “Lucky Seven” dice to up the style ante. Those who love vintage images on their products will definitely like the CuteBug Hipster, helping ladies stand out from the crowd and turning the tide against boring and repetitive designs. The pink Hipster model will retail for $69.99 each and is readily available while Black with Yellow trim and Green with Yellow trim colors will be rolled out later this spring.

Mustek seems to be pretty intent on carving out a name for itself in the digital photo frame business, and the PF-E700 is their latest effort. Not only do you get a device that shows off your favorite photos, it also comes with the following integrated features :-
- Built-in alarm clock
- Calendar
- Indoor temperature gauge
- MP3 playback capability
In addition to those, the PF-E700 also makes for an impromptu video playback device thanks to its 7″ 480 x 234 TFT color LCD display that handles AVI and M-JPEG formats effortlessly. Information such as time, calendar and temperature digits are reversely display on the bottom of the player in order to maximize space for photography appreciation - I like that a low. It is tipped that the Mustek PF-E700 will ship this April for $149.99 a pop.

Casio’s G-Shock range is well known for their overall hardiness, and despite sporting a more expensive price tag compared to standard digital watches, they’re generally an excellent purchase. Hard to believe that a quarter of a century has already passed since the first G-Shock model rolled off Casio’s production lines. In order to commemorate the situation, Casio has decided to release the MRG-8000G which will be made available in Japan, the US, Germany and England. The bezel itself is made from titanium while the 18 karat gold ring is accompanied by gold accents throughout. Be prepared to fork out a pretty penny for this watch as the MRG-8000G will retail for approximately $4,600.

With Valentine’s Day coming round the corner, it makes perfect sense for retailers to try pocket as many consumer dollars as possible during this busy period in order to capitalize on your feelings for your loved one. AT&T is no different, hoping to gain a small bonus by releasing its Pantech Duo dual-sliding handset in red. Other than the change in color, everything else inside remains the same as a standard Pantech Duo including 3G support, a 240 x 320 resolution display, powered by Windows Mobile 6 and providing support for push email services, AT&T’s Mobile Music Service, and AT&T’s Video Service.

Check out this Soltronix Solar Headset that features bendy solar panels and an integrated radio, all crammed into the headset itself. Perfect for those who want to catch up with the news while spending a great deal of time outdoors - as long as there is daylight, anyways. I guess the older generation will appreciate this more than younger ‘uns who tends to get their latest news from RSS feeds and the ilk on their BlackBerries and iPhones. This nickel cadmium-free pair of headphones retail for £24.99 a pop.

Hopefully you won’t have a termite attack on your MAGNO Wooden Radio years down the road since it is made almost entirely out of sustainably grown wood, ditching faux wood in the process. Retailing for $275 a pop, the MAGNO radio only receives AM/FM transmission, so you can forget about hooking up any sort of MP3 player to it. I like the polished knobs and dials, but the asking price is a wee bit too high for my comfort. After all, most portable gadgets these days already come with built-in radio transmission, let alone cell phones. Get this only if you’ve run out of ideas on how to decorate your home. Ships April 1st 2008.

Modu Mobile has developed a modular phone system that was just nominated by the Guinness World Records as the lightest phone in the world, tipping the scales at a mere 40.1 grams while measuring 72mm x 37mm x 7.8mm. Despite being so small and light, it is still capable of dishing out similar functions to what other standard handsets have on offer including a speaker, Bluetooth connectivity, MP3 playback, and 1GB of internal memory among others. The Modu is tipped to be launched in Italy, Russia and Israel on the 1st of October this year, and in all probability will arrive Stateside next year. A single Modu with two jackets bundle will retail for approximately $280.
