Macworld Expo Off To a Great Start

Posted on 16 January 2008 by techiediva

Were you surprised by Steve Job’s announcement of the MacBook Air, the world’s thinnest notebook? We were, and couldn’t wait to see it in person so we headed over to Macworld in San Francisco to take a better look at the lightweight notebook. The Macbook Air, as you know weighs only three pounds, has a splendid multi-touch trackpad, a 13.3 inch screen, and specs like  a 1.6 or 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 80GB hard drive or 64GB SSD, 2GB of RAM, and it will set you back $1,799. Here are some images from today’s MacBook Air at Macworld. We’ll continue to highlight other cool gadgets from the showfloor, so stay tuned.

Space Invaders Mac Case

Posted on 14 January 2008 by techiediva

Finding a beautiful and unique laptop case for my Macbook is not easy, so when I spotted Velvet Idole’s Space Invaders cases, I just knew I had to have one. The computer case is leather on the outside and lined with Space Invaders fabric in red/blue or blue/black combinations on the inside.  The company has other luxury leather cases in solid colors, as well as  fashion cases with beautiful patterns if you prefer something a little more feminine. The cases fit most iBooks, Powerbooks, and Macbooks and start at $83.

iDistractions Leading to Accidental Deaths

Posted on 14 January 2008 by techiediva

We haven’t heard a whole lot of stories in the media regarding iJackings lately, but what I have heard is how many people are being killed on the road because they were texting or talking on the phone while driving, or listening to their iPod while jogging, crossing a street, or riding a bike. It’s unfortunate, and alarming so the Sydney Police in Australia is raising awareness with a print campaign they hope will grab a young person’s attention. What do you think?ipoddead.jpg

Fashion Tasers: Zap’em with Style

Posted on 14 January 2008 by techiediva

I like to think of myself as a pretty peaceful person, but a taser would definitely make me feel a bit safer on the street. Last year, TASER made quite the impression with a pinkified taser, and this year, they’ve gone all out with  leopard-skinned zappers that would certainly spark a conversation or two at those crazy taser parties we’ve been hearing about. To complement the stylish taser, the company released a case with built-in MP3 player so you always keep your taser within reach. The new fashionable Taser C2 will set you back about $350, while the holster-music player retails for $73.

The Moscone Center will be full of new and old iPod/iPhone accessories, one of them being Gilty Couture who will be there showcasing its glamorous cases. Gilty Couture’s cases are made of 14k gold or silver plates and bejeweled with Swarovski crystals making them way more affordable than the real thing. You can choose between gold, silver or pink stones, and cases are made for the iPhone, iTouch, and newer iPods such as the iPod shuffle, nano (2nd & 3rd gen), iPod video, and iPod classic with prices starting at $55.
