Eye-Fi Makes Picture Taking a SNAP

Posted on 03 December 2007 by Cat

Instead of waiting for log-in screens, messing with cables or cradles, you want to have the freedom to post your photos quickly and easily!  The new Eye-Fi card will give you such freedom you’ll pack up all the wires and cradles and work directly through your Wi-Fi connection.

This card sends your photos to your computer through the network and saves them into the folder you choose.  Your computer must be on and running the software, but how easy is that to set up ahead of time?  No need to publish them directly, you can have them save in the folder until you’re ready to release them or just archive them for your own keeping.

Or, you can opt for the online publishing through your favorite site.  Here’s what the Eye-Fi main site says about this:

Behind the scenes, the Eye-Fi Service intelligently handles your
photos, getting them to your chosen site, taking care of log-ins and
passwords, even re-sizing pictures if your destination requires it.
It’s secure and private, and photo uploads are free and unlimited with
your Eye-Fi Card.

Or you can choose to do both, archive them in your home system AND publish them to your favorite site.  A great gift idea for your photo-loving friends.
