Have you ever wanted to take a decontamination bath after coming across a really, really, filthy site (you know what I’m taking about)? Well now you can at least protect your fingers from acquiring an STD (or as Engadget puts it a screen-transmitted disease) with the help of Phone fingers. Yes, they’re as ridiculous as they sound, but think of the benefits this has. You don’t have to touch your filthy handset ever again (handsets are dirtier than toilets), or leave nasty smudges on your iPhone screen. You’ll look like a complete fool, no doubt, but that’s the price you pay for being a neat freak. Phone fingers are actually available now for $10 for a 25 pack, and are available in all sizes to fit your finger needs.

If you spend hours sitting in front of your computer playing online games, this rig will certainly impress you. Not only does it look nice for that purpose, but also gives a hint of future work environments.
With uber-storage space, a relaxing and cozy seat to sit in and everything you need at your fingertips, this Battle-Rig Pro has the design to make you drool. Color combinations to match your decor. help you choose the best rig for you while the design also allows you to integrate your speaker system and enjoy surround sound quality while still keeping your wires and cables hidden from view.
You can order the Battle-Rig Pro without the included seat as well and customize it to your own specifications. It looks, from the site, that they currently deliver to Germany, Austria and Switzerland primarily but they allow on-site pickup as well so you’re not completely left out if you reside elsewhere.
The site has a link to the upcoming Office-Rig and I look forward to seeing that launch as well.

I remember the buzz about the portable CD player and now they have conceptualized the
Portable DVD Player to match it, or improve it. This one would utilize the ultrathin OLED display to keep it nice and compact. The only complaint that was heard on the CD player before, and would wrap into this concept as well, was the exposed CD/DVD looking "cool" but not being functional…and possibly being dangerous.
I’m sure that the concept will be tweaked prior to release as usual, and I’m excited to see the many ideas that come from this one. A truly portable DVD player would come in handy and with what we have on the market now, this would be a greatly improved design in comparison.
A quote from the designer:
"Designer Yeon-shin Seung says he plans to use Sony’s full-color
flexible organic electroluminescent display on this device because of
the screen’s thin and lightweight form factor."

Nikon has launched the Nikon D3 DSLR camera to be released in November of this year and they are gaining ground fast, living up to their old standards. I have always been impressed with Nikon and they haven’t disappointed me this time, either.
With the fastest startup time, shortest viewfinder blackout time and the shortest shutter lag of any digital SLR camera out there (they claim) this camera will give you the functionality that you need for the fast shots. It will also give you plenty of quality.
The 12.1 effective MP has Nikon’s new FX-format CMOS sensor which is measured at 23.9 x 36mm, making it so similar to 35mm film size. The D3 has a brand new 51-point auto focus system with Nikon’s 3D Focus Tracking feature to allow you to frame a photograph utilizing the high-resolution LCD monitor and two different LiveView modes.
Toughly constructed of magnesium alloy, this camera won’t let you down when it comes to shooting sports events or fast moving shots. It comes at a hefty price for some, but if this is how you make your living, it’ll definitely pay off!

The SkateMaster will give you a new love for skating. Not powered by your feet, but instead
an electric powerful motor that’s attached to the board, giving you an easier way to head uphill.
Using a neat hand held remote, you just squeeze the trigger and your board will increase in speed and then you simply drive, like usual, with the leaning motions that power all skateboards.
It might seem lazy, but this could also open the door to other gadgets that are powered (and more affordable) to get us around, as an alternative to bikes and the ever-popular Segway. Maybe you’ll even surprise yourself and enjoy getting into shape while utilizing a new mode of transportation.

Toshiba Matsushita Display has just released a new kind of LCD display that comes in a circular design, targeting installation in instrument panels for automotive applications. It is this piece of news that made me realize there aren’t any circular LCDs available for consumer electronics yet - or am I wrong? This newly developed technology boasts an outer diameter of 75mm, including the driving circuit and works great for tightly confined space that is normally found in a motor vehicle instrument pane. Not only that, it does not break up the flow of the styling and design of the instrument panel itself. This is but a prototype at point of publishing, but it already can display a stunning 260,000 colors simultaneously. Can’t wait for the final version to be released.

All watches are the same (barring a diamond or two here and there), or are they? Apparently not, as evident by the Hyundai W-100 watch phone. And you thought that Hyundai only makes cars…this timepiece not only keeps you up-to-date down to the latest minute, but it also offers the ability to keep in touch with friends and family as long as there is reception. This GSM phone comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera that captures video, support for audio and video playback, a touchscreen interface (good luck composing text messages on such a tiny display!), a microSD memory card slot for expansion options, and Bluetooth connectivity which doesn’t make you look like a fool talking to a watch.

If you’re interested in picking up the Asus Eee PC, here’s more word on it. Don’t expect over the top performance numbers with the Eee PC, as the best model packs in a mere 8GB SSD and 1GB RAM, while the entry level model ships with a mere 2GB SSD and 256MB RAM - numbers that definitely won’t do in this day and age. Imagine running Windows on this configuration - you’d be practically crawling! The price range can’t be beat though, hovering from $299 to $399. Each Asus Eee PC comes with a trio of USB ports, Open Office software suite to get you started in documents, presentations, spreadsheets and databases, as well as audio and video playback options. You can expect the Eee PC to hit the US within a few weeks.

Do we really need to resort to this? Maybe so, with concepts that both protect and serve to make us feel more protected, this design will really impress you.
A bedside table that will keep all the tools on hand that you might need, but hopefully WON’T need, at home. Designer James McAdam brings you the Safe Bedside Table that quickly changes from an alarm clock and drink holder, to a beating stick and shield. Of course, this table isn’t yet for sale, but just a concept.
I suppose if you really needed this setup, you could just kick your existing table into parts and utilize the pieces in the same way. Maybe throw some velcro on the bottom of the table so that you can hold onto it easier? They say planning ahead is good, right? I am sure this is more comfortable to have by your bed and would take the place of the inconvenient "bat under the mattress" concept.
It just seems like an accident waiting to happen, to me…
