Ping Pong paddles for the Wii

Posted on 24 October 2007 by BabyReaps

wii_ping_pong_paddle

While most people would rather engage in other sports on the Wii, there are a select few who prefer to have a spot of table tennis. For this select group, why not enhance the realism level in the game with these snap on Ping Pong paddles for the Wiimote? Strangely enough, they’re called "3-in-1" solutions, but does whacking your pesky little brother over the head with it during an intense match up count as one of the functions? Take note that they aren’t an officially sanctioned peripheral and will retail for approximately $16.

Cyber Bug Mouse Pad

Posted on 20 October 2007 by BabyReaps

cyberbug-mousepad

With the advent of much better optical and laser technology found in mice these days, there practically isn’t any need for a mousepad. Hence, the mousepad has been relegated to the realm of professional gaming (or semi-pro folks) as well as those who want to spruce up their desktop. The Cyber Bug Mouse Pad sets are extremely colorful and will definitely brighten up any dreary office environment with its nature-inspired artwork. They will retail for $35 a pop, and comes with a USB plug and PS2 adapter for those who are still using computers from the late 90s. I must say, the colors are pretty harsh on the eyes after a while.

Concept remote control in a bracelet form factor

Posted on 20 October 2007 by BabyReaps

orbit-remote

More often than not, the remote control and lounging chair in the living room often belongs to dad as he claims to reign over the hundreds of TV channels with the almighty remote. One thing’s for sure - the remote control isn’t exactly easy to comprehend to the average person, which is why Chloe Fung has come up with a concept Orbit Remote which comes in the form of a bracelet that caters to women, carrying only the most basic of controls as the ladies catch up on their favorite soap operas in the afternoons. Hopefully more female-centric gadgets will be rolled out in order to bridge the digital divide between both genders. What are some of your favorite female-centric gadgets and gizmos?

Store-It Drive Impresses

Posted on 19 October 2007 by Cat

Thumb drives continually improve over time and I feel the Store-It Thumb Drive should be at the top of your list of "must haves".  Not only does Pexagon offer this drive in a variety of colors, but they also give you the option for free security software to add to your drive, at their website.

With a USB 2.0 and 1.1 compatible drive, you will be able to store files from your Mac or PC quickly and easily.  No drivers are required for Me, 2000, XP or Vista and you do not need any external power source to keep this drive up.

A plug and play, easy to use setup makes storing your files or photos quick and easy.  There is also, what I consider very important, an LED for power and activity status.  No more pulling the drive out too soon and risking your files safety.

In a variety of sizes, the Pexagon Store-It Thumb Drive offers you all the options you need.  Comes in  512MB to 4G sizes and they have 14 different colors to choose from.  Easily affordable, I would bet you buy all 14 so you can color-coordinate your files.

And, oh, did I mention the FREE engraving they offer?  And an affordable gift box and lanyard for those of you that like to give the ultimate package when you wrap a gift.  Even better, they have a choice of themes (you can even upload your own logo!) they can add with engraving to make this a fun gift or business offer.

Pictured, is my own personalized drive just to make you jealous…

Dog earthquake rescue jacket

Posted on 19 October 2007 by BabyReaps

dog-earthquake-jacket

While some of our readers do not live in earthquake prone areas like Japan, it is still better to be safe than sorry. Dogs are well known to be extremely loyal to their masters, and it is no surprise if your very own pooch tries to sniff you out in the aftermath. It is essential to be equipped with an emergency kit in the case of an earthquake, but what happens when you’re trapped under some rubble with only a small space separating you from the outside world? Enter this emergency kit that is worn on your dog which retails for 50,000 yen (approximately $434). I’m not too sure whether you want Fido to wear this all the time since you can’t tell when exactly will an earthquake strike.
