Something Original For The Office

Posted on 31 October 2007 by Cat

You know, we often think a gadget has to have batteries or electronic devices to make it an official gadget.  I tend to think there could be other "gadget" categories.

Take this, for instance.  The Tinker Toy set that you give to someone to place in their office, to display.  Not only can you display it, but you can actually use the set and enjoy some creative time while taking calls or planning events.

Obsession Box Company has the Executive Tinker Toy set that you can give to your favorite office pal.  With elegant cherry and ebony finishes, these will make a nice addition to any office and maybe open up some de-stressing time for the busy executive.  Comes with an instruction book and the toys, what more do you need?

Ever Run Out Of Things To Say?

Posted on 31 October 2007 by Cat

I can honestly say this does not happen to me often.  I bet you could’ve guessed this, right?  But I’ll venture out and say that I’ve found myself at a loss for words in my life and this idea is kinda cute to get things rolling again.

A set of cards with different themes you can buy, according to your plans to go out, that will give you cues on what to ask and how to keep the conversation going.  Table Topics offers you a chance to ask questions that you don’t even think up!  How cool is that?

Use these cards as coasters or place them randomly around a big table when you have guests over and see what fun conversation comes up.  I hope they put a disclaimer on the cards, because you know how some conversations can turn into heated debates…

With separate choices like the Original Table Topics, Teen, Girls Night Out, Spirit, Book Club, Couples and a Family version, you can custom choose the topics you want to discuss according to your needs.  Just don’t mistakenly bring the Book Club cards to the Family outing…or maybe that could be a good conversation?

Gift Girl content includes:

“Gift Girl Collections” – Ranging from New York City Girl to Lazy Sunday Girl, Nantucket Girl and more., complete ensembles are suggested to match many moods, looks and occasions.

Mobius MKII

Posted on 30 October 2007 by Cat

Not just any speaker, the Mobius MKII Reference Loudspeakers are omni-directional, eight-inch speaker arrays that will blast your music out with 360 degrees of sound to enjoy.  With two mid-bass drivers mounted back to back, creating an array that is basically two speaker domes mounted against one another, you will hear your sound in a new way.

The speaker design uses a cone for the bass sound to come out deep and rich, but the price tag of these will make you weep.  If you have $10,000-$15,000 laying around your house and you like good sounding speakers, you might want to be there when Mobius determines the big date in 2008 to release these.

Make sure you design your home around the speaker in this case.  They stand at over three feet tall so you’ll want to display them accordingly.

iShoes Take You Places

Posted on 30 October 2007 by Cat

iShoes might look a bit odd but for a concept they are thought provoking, at the least.  An invention designed by brothers Ilya and Boris Kaganovich from Minnesota, the iShoes will carry you along at up to 15 miles per hour.

These shoes are motorized and controlled with a hand unit, so that you can pace yourself on short trips.  Unfortunately, they only go about five to seven miles per charge, but for a quick shopping day (if you don’t mind looking a bit odd) you could utilize these most anywhere.

No pricing out on them yet, as they are a prototype, but I would expect others to grasp the idea and come up with some more advanced ideas so that adults can skate around town like the kids do.  They are like adult Heelys, right?

Toilet seats to color your world

Posted on 30 October 2007 by BabyReaps

inax-color-toilet

The suits at Inax must have cast more than one envious glance at the cellphone accessories industry as the Japanese toilet seat manufacturer decided to follow a similar business model - offering a Passo warm water washing seat that comes in a choice of 11 dazzling pastel colors. This enables you to match any renovation works done to your new bathroom. These colorful Inax toilet seats will go on sale in Japan from November 21st onwards for $1,365 a pop. At that price, I think picking up a spraycan of paint would be the more prudent idea.

Posted on 29 October 2007 by BabyReaps

corner-lampLighting up a corner in your home can be quite tricky as you try to find the perfect balance between form and function. With the Corner Lamp, chances are you’ll be kicking yourself on not thinking up this idea in the first place, especially when they retail for a cool $195 each. Standing tall at 60", the Corner Lamp is but a simple shade modification that fits snugly into any corner perfectly - unless, of course, the angles in your home venture off the tried-and-true 90 degrees standard held dear throughout the ages.
