Summer may be coming to an end for those of you heading back to school, but the rest of us still have a few more weeks to chill out by the pool sipping margaritas while reading a good book–by good I don’t mean Harry Potter. Doesn’t that sound delicious? I wish I wasn’t such a cheapskate, otherwise I’d be placing an order for one of these loungers. Design Public has these awesome Outdoor FatBoy chairs that look like oversized bean bags for grown-ups (maybe it’s just the girl). The coated-nylon chair is 55 inches by 75 so you can either sleep on it or prop it up when you feel like lounging around. Two straps are attached to each side so you can drag it outside and since it’s UV treated you don’t even have to worry about sun damage. If you got money to burn, then the $349 price tag shouldn’t be an issue. Lucky dog;) via Gadget Candy

Us Weekly, our favorite guilty pleasure, puts on its techie diva hat to tell us how those SCRAM ankle bracelets work. You might remember one Lindsay Lohan wearing a SCRAM bracelet after her stint in rehab earlier this year–you know, the one before the one she’s currently in. She voluntarily strapped the alcohol monitoring system as way of showing the courts–and the world–that she intended to stay sober. Unfortunately, you know how that story ended, but the day she relapsed her lawyer was the first to know.
Apparently, "the ankle bracelet checks the sweat of its wearer for alcohol once an hour, and stores the data. The ankle bracelet is assigned an external modem, and the wearer arranges to be within 30 feet of the modem once a day to transmit the information to a monitoring company. If the wearer misses the daily check in, tries to tamper with the device by cutting it off or drinks alcohol, a "violation" is issued, and her probation officer (if SCRAM was mandated by court), or lawyer would learn when they receive their daily report from the monitoring company." Too bad it only detects alcohol, which means those wearing one could be resorting to more creative ways of getting wasted. Via Us Weekly

If you haven’t heard about Justine Ezarik 300-page iPhone bill, then you must read my post over here. Anyway, the girl got a shinning iPhone, took advantage of her all-you-can-eat plan by texting over 30,000 messages, and a month later out comes a phone bill the size of a Harry Potter book (ok, I’m exaggerating). The problem here is that nobody told new AT&T subscribers they have e-billing options, therefore many of them will be getting their iPhone bill in boxes. So what is AT&T doing? AT&T hasn’t issued a official statement yet (at least I haven’t seen one), but an AT&T rep emailed one blogger to let him know that AT&T "is aware they are killing a lot of trees and is just starting to prevent it by going to "summary billing"-meaning no more call/data details for every phone on the account, just basic charges. This happens by default for every new customer as of August 10th." Oh, and those that really, really want a paper bill will have to pay an extra $1.99 per month–according to the rep. Well that’s going to help me sleep better at night. I’m not sure how reliable this "rep" insider info is, but if you have an iPhone, find out what the deal is next month, and let me know, will ya? We sure love trendy laptop bags, but I think we’re at a point where adding a different color to the same style of bag doesn’t cut it anymore. Geeksugar noticed the charming Gabriel and Schwan laptop bags. If your style is anything but boring, you’ll be attracted to all the colorful patterns on these wicked laptop bags. They’re a bit on the pricey side, at $230, but I guarantee you’ll be the only one sporting one
at work.

This may be the first couple to have been married in the virtual world, as well as in the real world. This took place two weeks ago at Fan Faire. Check out the video.
"Players of the online game EverQuest® II shared their love for gaming and each other, as Sony Online Entertainment hosted a simultaneous Live and In-Game Wedding ceremony at the 2007 SOE Fan Faire (held in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 2nd-4th). During the ceremony, the couple exchanged vows in front of an audience of more than 1,600 fellow gamers, then 46 year-old Kelly Kane Davalos and 31 year-old Nathan Davalos sealed the deal through their EverQuest II avatars at computers perched on the altar."

Waking up in the mornings can be quite a chore, especially for those who are not morning people. What makes this act even harder is the incessant din that an alarm clock blares, rudely jolting you awake. What if there was a clock that goes back to nature by gently nudging you out of bed? The Sunrise Serenade is yet another simulated sunrise clock in the market, but at least there were attempts to make it look like the star in our solar system by coming in a translucent orb that looks as though the sun is slowly but surely rising above the horizon.
Of course, if you have that all important job interview, I strongly suggest you stick to the standard "rude awakening" alarm clock - after all, there are times where you simply cover your eyes with a pillow to continue your slumber despite having Mr. Sunshine flood the entire room. That normally happens after a rough night out at a local watering hole. Still, for those who are interested in the Sunrise Serenade alarm clock can pick it up for a rather hefty $150.

I have the first installment of Cooking Mama for the Nintendo DS Lite, and I must say that title got me hooked for a fair amount of time (at least until I picked up Final Fantasy III but that’s another story for another day). It was pretty interesting slicing up vegetables, peeling hot potatoes, stirring a soup while adjusting the flames below, but after going through recipe after recipe, I found that the entire experience got a little old. I have not yet unlocked all the recipes contained in that game but I had better before Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends arrive in retail stores.
Needless to say, Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends feature the same gameplay and offers mostly similar graphics, but the inclusion of 80 new recipes and 150 different cooking procedures (!) will definitely appeal to casual gamers worldwide. Not only that, you can have single card multiplayer - something the first installment lacked, and the ability to decorate your kitchen according to the way you want it as well as giving Mama a brand new set of clothes. This title shouldn’t retail for more than $29.90 when released.

It’s time to go back-to-school, and now parents have another decision to make: Should they send their kids to school with a bulletproof backpack? MyChild’s Pack was created by two men in Boston who worry about all the recent school shootings. The backpack is lighter than a 15-pound police vest, yet it can stop even the deadliest 9-millimeter hollowpoint. For $175 parents can have peace of mind, and kids a nice shield just in case. What Diva doesn’t enjoy styling things around a wardrobe or favorite piece of clothing? As geeky as you might be, you probably have a flair for style, too. In comes a neat idea to Dezign a Bag.

From the handles, lids, hardware and inserts, you can make your bag completely original and snazzy. Choose from wood and metal, multiple colors, nickel and brass, and 41 different pre-designed inserts. What I like most about the site is that you can see your bag as you design it. Make no mistakes, you’ll know what you’re about to purchase.
Not only can you completely go berserk with the customization but you can then print your own inserts on the site for a change-up. Using a .pdf template you can add your own pictures or graphics and wear them, too. Why not check it out? The bags come in at $89.95 and you can customize to your hearts desire, or use pre-made inserts for around $20 a pop.
