Brando has a little something for the ladies

Posted on 17 July 2007 by BabyReaps

Gadget mavens Brando has come up with the USB Gift Set For Ladies, literally brightening up the work space or cubicle with its essential accessories included with each purchase. What you get is a USB-powered Mini Vacuum Cleaner that helps get rid of any dandruff or other crumbs that have made their way in between your keys during those long nights at work where you munched on cookies and donuts to keep you going. In addition, there is also a USB-powered fan for those who love taking a break while giving their fingernails some manicure love, and a USB Mood Light Pen Holder which can light up at the flick of a switch, giving a soft ambient glow during those late nights. The USB Lighted Mirror is essential as you get to check whether your make up is in place before meeting with an important client.

Not only that, you get a 4-port Hub into the mix for additional expansion purposes. The entire set comes in a pink color that makes it obvious which gender it targets. At $29.50 a pop, I have my reservations that you get your money’s worth since it is made mostly of plastic.

Speakers now come in fine china

Posted on 17 July 2007 by BabyReaps

porcelain_speakers

Fine porcelain is better known as china, and everyone often breaks out the finest china in the house whenever there is an esteemed guest staying over for a meal. It seems that china isn’t only good as an eating utensil, but it can be fashioned into a pair of speakers to decorate your desktop. Designed by famous Japanese designer Noboru Kawamura, this China Speakers are said to produce a warm, tender sound which cannot be replicated by wood or plastic enclosures.

Each of these square-shaped speakers measure 5" x 5" x 6", and that’s just about all the information available at this point in time. There is no word on performance figures, but you surely can’t expect these to be used at parties, do you? One thing’s for sure though - little Johnny had better learn to kick the football outside coz breaking a pair of these will cost him around $392 in allowances!

Cupcake Speakers for the ladies

Posted on 17 July 2007 by BabyReaps

cupcake-stereo-speaker

While ladies have used computers for as long as men, you’ll find that more often than not the designs of computers as well as its plethora of accessories skew towards the male demographic more than the female population. These include boring, square lines in a package that comes in either black, silver, or white colors. They reflect a cold look in any room, and definitely won’t win any points with the Happy Room Academy in Animal Crossing. Now check out this pair of speakers - in fact, they would probably look good enough to eat at first glance to any hungry office worker who has been overworked and underpaid. Ladies ought to fall head over heels with these adorable speakers.

Coming in the shape of cupcakes, these speakers offer no frosted heart-shaped sugary sweetness but good old bass and treble instead. They can be plugged into any compatible media player or computer, functioning as your average compact stereo speakers. These cupcake speakers will most probably make their way across retail store shelves over the next few months at a yet undisclosed price.

iPhone skins to the fore

Posted on 17 July 2007 by BabyReaps

iphone-skins

Since sales of the iPhone took off phenomenally since its release despite a fair share of negative reviews (the user experience the main thing that is currently pushing the iPhone across the country despite some major flaws in the hardware such as battery issues), it makes perfect sense to brace ourselves for a slew of iPhone skins for those who want to personalize their latest communications device. SkinIt has certainly seized the initiative by coming up with a wide variety of vinyl skins for your selection.

The range of choices is astounding - you can pick from Dance Dance Revolution to different flags of the world, never mind that the iPhone is currently available only in the US. Each of these skins will set you back by $14.95, chump change considering how you’ve already dropped $600 for the phone itself. Another good thing of having skinned your iPhone is you prevent pesky fingerprints from appearing all over.

Cool Your Drinks With a Carrycool Bag

Posted on 16 July 2007 by Techie Diva

Man, it is HOT this summer, so before you go to the beach with just an iPod and a towel, I suggest packing a few bottles of water to keep you cool in the sun. The Carrycool Bag looks like any cooling bag in the market, except this one plugs into your car’s lighter plug to keep anything inside nice and cold.  I thought that $155, this bag would also mix drinks, and play a few tunes, but that’s not the case friends. I’m opposed to paying $155 for anything this simple, so I won’t be getting one of these, but if you roll like that, then check it out at Compact Impact. Via GeeksugarPinkgreenbag

Fun MP3 For Woody Types

Posted on 16 July 2007 by Techie Diva

Hey, we can’t blame you for being afraid of giving your child a $300 MP3 player to take to school. Kids are stabbing kids for them, plus you can’t really justify giving your ten year old an expensive iPod, right? After all, it’s already hard getting those kids to help around the house. Well if you lived in Korea, you’d have a pretty cheap alternative. This cute Tree Camera MP3 player is available in blue, brown, and pink, and contains a 256MB music box that holds MP3, WMA, and OGG files. Just plug your earbuds, hang it around your neck, and maybe add a few crystals to give it some sparkle. At $43, it’s great for kids and adults alike.  Product PageMp3_camera_pendant

Laptop Lids Show School Pride

Posted on 16 July 2007 by Cat

Do you need to add spark to your laptop before heading off to college?  Check out the Laptop Lids site and find one way to decorate the top of your laptop and add a little protection.  If you’re like me, you have a few personalization stickers on your laptop, showing your style off a bit.

One way to show your school pride off is to cover the lid with your school logo.  Laptop Lids offers this option as well as an American flag decoration to help you show others who you support.  With three sizes available, large comes in at 9×14 for a 17" setup, medium is 9×12 for 15" to 15.4" displays and small is 8×11 for 14" display models.

Logos that you can choose include local schools here in Texas but you can also head to the custom laptop cover ordering page and if you have a minimum order of 25, you can customize your Laptop Lid to your hearts desire.  Company and school logos, your favorite photo for family members and many other options come to mind.

And, talk about fast shipping!  If you’re in a hurry, I can tell you that I got mine in two days as promised (they estimate 2-3 day delivery, I was impressed) and after applying the decal to my laptop I removed it to see if the promised "residue free" claim was true.  It was easy to remove and did not leave sticky backing like a sticker would.  Much easier and cleaner to deal with.  They do recommend you remove it with the laptop closed, which I did follow.

Look at the About Us page for more information on how and why the company started.  It looks to me like the company is open to new design ideas and would work with most anyone that needed a specific logo.  Creative!

The amazing part of this camera is that has premium H.264 compression that can make the files size about 25% smaller than the normal MPEG 4. Plus, don’t forget it can me used underwater!! This is a perfect summer vacation camera and not have to worry about it getting wet!!

MusicPal brings music to your living room wirelessly

Posted on 15 July 2007 by BabyReaps

musicpalHaving a HiFi set in your home is so 80s, and with the advent of MP3 players and the like, it is more common to see iPod speaker docks or other equivalents lining up on the home entertainment shelf in your pad instead. Radio is also old hat by now, with more and more people jumping onto the online radio bandwagon instead. Freecom has unveiled its latest creation to cater for those Internet radio enthusiasts, and the MusicPal looks set to be a winner. It is capable of streaming audio not only from a computer or network over a wireless LAN connection, but plays back Internet radio directly without the need for a computer. It takes just seconds to install, and with support for 5,000 over Internet radio stations, you won’t run out of interesting listening material anytime soon.

In addition, its screen is capable of displaying live RSS feeds and blog feeds for those who’re always on the lookout for the latest news. Just like most other HiFi sets, there is an alarm clock function to get you out of bed with your favorite DJ on air. A pair of built-in speakers and a wireless LAN antenna rounds off the list of features. The MusicPal is currently available for pre-order at 129 Euros a pop, appearing on retail shelves only when August rolls around.
