Careful, don’t poke your eyes out with this one!

usb-eye-massager

Working in front of the computer for hours on end isn’t the primary idea of fun, but unfortunately for most of us, that is a fact of life. Other than maintaining a decent posture as well as throwing glances at distant objects once in a while, you really don’t have many other avenues to take a break from it all, especially for those stuck in a rigid working environment. Since you’re already sitting right in front of your computer, why not take advantage of any available USB ports by picking up this USB Eye Massager?

No idea on how much an individual unit costs at the moment, but it is currently available in wholesale lots from Sundayo. It looks extremely cute, but I dread the lawsuits that are on their way filed by folks who have had their eyes gouged out by colleagues who without a second thought, figured out it would be cool to pull a Three Stooges act in real life without suffering from any consequences.

Dress up your computer monitors

Posted on 31 July 2007 by BabyReaps

pj-mac-screenWe all know how playing with dolls is a favorite past time for many in their younger days, but what happens when little girls grow up and enter the workforce? Computers aren’t exactly the sexiest things on earth (although owners of Apple computers might beg to differ), but that isn’t reason enough to leave them unattended in the world of fashion. Tucano has made available a couple of Pyjama-style screen protective covers that help prevent dust, mothballs, and other undesirable elements and pests from crawling all over your beloved computer monitor at night.

You can pick up these jammies that fit 17" screens perfectly (LCD only, thank you very much) for both the Mac and the PC that retail for £9.99 and £18.99 respectively. Strange how the Mac version costs substantially less than the PC version considering they’re both the same size, and the Mac version comes with the added advantage of a cute shirt pocket that actually holds your mouse within when it is not in use.

Meowing used to fix kids’ attention

Posted on 30 July 2007 by BabyReaps

holga-cat-cam-can

For those who have yet to move on towards the digital camera age, there are still some 35mm film cameras in existence that caters to this crowd. While most of such cameras come in a boring black color, this offering from Holga is definitely different, boasting a truly unique packaging that will appeal to feline lovers. The Holga K202 Cat Camera comes in a white body with a hand drawn image of a cat’s face in front. In order to keep the attention of the young ‘uns fixated upon the camera while you line up a shot, the Holga K202 will emit a really long "meooooow".

While this idea is pretty interesting, I’m not sure if it works better than bribing the kids to have some pizza once they’re done with the current photo session. I suppose only the younger ones will be transfixed on why mommy has kidnapped a kitten and stashed it away inside a small, rectangle box. The Holga K202 Cat Camera is currently available for $29.99 on eBay.

Taser C2 takes on pink shade

Posted on 30 July 2007 by BabyReaps

pink-taser-c2Most people won’t associate the color pink with something macho, but instead leans towards the feminine side. With the nature of work and lifestyle that many single women lead today, it would be safer to carry around some kind of self-defense device. While a pepper spray and personal alarms are old hat, the Taser is still relatively new when compared to the aforementioned. The Taser C2 now comes in a color that will definitely blend in with the rest of your items in the handbag, coming in a lovely shade of pink.

The next time some creep wants to get fresh with you, the pink Taser C2 will definitely come in handy. It boasts a maximum working range of 15 feet - that’s the equivalent of 5 meters, and in the world of Dungeons & Dragons, that would equal to casting a 15′ protection spell. It has a maximum voltage of 50,000 volts that is more than capable of penetrating up to two cumulative inches of clothing.

Glow Brick Adds Flair

Posted on 30 July 2007 by Cat

Tired of the same old light bulb keeping your area aglow?  Try the Glow Brick for some added gadgetry.  You’ll even save some money with this one, because it’s solar powered.  So, look good and feel good with it around.

The glowing brick gives the impression that you have a bulb that’s just suspended in mid-air in a room, giving off a nice bit of light.  The acrylic brick keeps things neat and tidy and can give you the added security of automatically turning on, for those late nights you spend out and forget to leave a light on.

During the day it stores up power and at night, blink, it’s on.  You could add some style to an area that normally is dark and dank in the evenings, by placing these on a shelf or near a favorite place to sit.  For around $30 you can grab a few!

Message in a Bottle

Posted on 30 July 2007 by Cat

Sometimes that perfect gift that you want to be memorable to someone, just comes to you.  I found the Message in a Bottle site to be an interesting inspiration to me.  Some ideal situations for this are love messages that can be kept over time.

Placed neatly in a bottle is a message with some chosen confetti for the situation.  Hearts or stars to surround your parchment that’s carefully wrapped up as a keepsake.  10.5×2.5 bottles and 7×2 sizes are available and the confetti choices seem to change depending on the chosen message.

There are even wedding invitations offered in a bottle, for something unique and fun.  And, if you are creative and have your own idea for this gift, you can visit the ‘design your own‘ page and create your own message and customized bottle.  From $19.99-$24.99, this would make an excellent gift that won’t be soon forgotten.

Placemat & Coasters, For Looks Only

Posted on 30 July 2007 by Cat

Beach stone placemats and coasters might look good but the description says that the coasters "are not suitable to protecting furniture from beverage condensation or dripping wax" which takes away some of the functionality of them, but not all.

If you’re looking to produce a pretty atmosphere these would do the trick.  The place mats are in a sandy white color which will keep your beach theme set for a party or locale.  Comes in 15×15" for the place mats and 4×4" for the coasters, to keep things tidy.

The place mats are sold separately while the coasters come in sets of four.  This site offers a discount on shipping, too.  At publish time, the place mats were on back order but there seem to be plenty of coasters.

Water on your iPod

Posted on 30 July 2007 by Cat

With summer in full swing, many of you visit areas with water and would love to take some music along with you.  If you are an iPod owner, the EGO iPod Waterproof Sound Case might be the answer for those days.

It has a waterproof click wheel membrane which allows you to use our controls without taking the mp3 out of the case.  There is also an adjustable stand for when viewing videos on your player.  Works with iPod Video, Photo, 4g, Mini and some other MP3 player brands.

Comes with speakers and is light-weight so you can throw it into your backpack and head to the beach.  Costs just under $150 so it’s an investment for those of you that might find the need for music near water.

Stand still and lose weight!

Posted on 28 July 2007 by BabyReaps

body-energizerEveryone knows that getting ample exercise and maintaining a healthy diet is the path to the land of the slim and svelte, although others attempt to pry you away from the true path with shortcuts and health gimmicks. I’m not too sure about the Body Energizer Vibrating Exercise Machine, but according to this advertisement, it has been used by many Olympic athletes. That claim alone ought to lend some weight, but it still takes a whole lot more to move me from my skeptical mountain.

After all, this device is said to produce high-frequency vibration impulses that help improve your muscle strength and tone in addition to adding bone density while speeding up weight loss and enhancing your overall physical performance. Sounds like it could do way more than performance enhancing drugs (which I do not, in any way, condone!) for a mere $229.95. All you need to do is hold onto the bars and turn it one. Apparently spending just four minutes for up to five times a week will yield remarkable results within 30 days. What do you think of the product claims? Go or no go?

USB Bottle Cooler and Warmer

Posted on 28 July 2007 by BabyReaps

usb-cooler-warmerNow this is an interesting twist on the standard USB Mug Cooler/Warmer fare that we have seen before. Thanko brings us the USB Bottle Cooler and Warmer device that relies on a USB connection in order to keep its contents warm or cool, depending on your preference. Incorporated within its body is the Peltier device that allows the cooling and heating system to work by simply switching electrodes, enabling it to come in such a compact package. Now I think this is certainly a great device to have on your desk, as it helps keep your cool drink, well, cool despite being interrupted to attend an impromptu boardroom meeting right after lunch just as you’re about to sip on your refreshing bottle of orange juice.

The line between the cooler and warmer is a thin one, as all you need to do is turn the switch according to the desired end result. The USB Bottle Cooler and Warmer is capable of keeping its contents cool/warm for up to 4 hours. Should the packaging of your original drink be too large to store within, you can always use pour the contents into the included mug. This nifty desktop device retails for $41.50 a pop.
