Switched has been conducting some interesting celeb questionnaires with the likes of Hilary Duff, Joan Collins and now Sandra Bernhard, all who offer us a glimpse into their tech-filled or tech-less lives. Sandra Bernhard is the latest celeb to get grilled by Switched with questions like, What gadgets do you like? What annoys you the most in a gadget? and What gadget would you bring to a deserted island? I love her response to the last question: My cell phone so I can have someone swing by and pick me up. Then again, there probably wouldn’t be any reception on this island. Just the same, I better not get deserted in my living room, bedroom or at the head of my kitchen table. I don’t get service there either… I hear ya sister!

Sat down with CBS 5 in San Francisco to talk about CCube and some click-to-call services available out there. If you haven’t heard about Ccube, it may be because they are a new social network that lets people call each other. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer to gradually get to know people I meet online before they can call my cell phone. One of their selling points is that you can use their click-to-call button on sites like Craigslist, so you don’t expose your number. The problem I see here is the other party may not want to sign up with your social network to be able to call you, especially if they’ll only use it once. My recommendation here was to check with your VOIP provider, since they may already offer Click-to-Call services. If you want people on Craigslist to call you, check out numbr. This site offers local numbers that forward calls to your real number. You can set the expiration time, and buyers don’t have to sign up for the service to call you. Plus the service is free. You can read my article on CCube, and click to call services on Yahoo Tech, and watch a video here.

Peripherals can be so dull. The team over at G-Cube is slapping keyboards, mice, webcams, and USB hubs with unique designs just for us girls–and guys if you’re into that sort of thing. What I love about it is that you can match the skin for your laptop, to the one on the keyboard and mouse. It’s like dressing up your computer from head to toe. Show everyone your sexy, wild side the Lux Leopard collection, or keep it dreamy with the Enchanted collection. Traveling divas will want to take their Cosmo-tinis sets on the road. The G-Cube collection will be available at Office Max starting this Fall.

MocoLoco came across a kind of jewelry that’s half-pixelated, half-stolen. Designers Mike and Maaike created a Stolen Jewels collection comprised of actual stolen jewels printed on scored leather. Here’s how they did it:
From MocoLoco:
Per Mike and Maaike; "An exploration of tangible vs. virtual in relation to real and perceived value. Using Google Image Search, we browsed through some of the most expensive and often famous jewelry in the world, the resulting low-res images we found were stolen, doctored, then transferred onto leather, creating a tangible new incarnation. With the expense of the jewels and the intricacy of their construction stripped away, their essence and visual intensity are extracted.
Stolen Pieces include the Hope Diamond Broach, the Golden Jubilee Diamond Broach, the Great Chrysanthemum Necklace, and Imelda Marcos’ Ruby Necklace with Diamonds by Van Cleef & Arpels among others."

GeekSugar spotted the uber-expensive Fendi B Patent Camera which costs a whopping $775. No, not $7.75 like it should, but almost eight benjis that could very well go towards other more attractive leather accessories. The camera bag, which probably has enough room to hold one tiny point-and-shoot, features an inside pocket (for what?), wide leather strap with Fendi logo, and is a zip top. I dont’ get it. It’s ugly, gold, and expensive. Guess that Fendi logo makes all the difference to some.

When we talk and think about gadgets, the last thing that comes to mind is a food chopper or a mixer. Could that have anything to do with the fact that you spending more time in your office than the kitchen? Perhaps, but when Summer rolls around and you look down to notice the not-so-cute love handles getting bigger, you know it’s time to start cooking at home again. WebMD’s Elaine Magee gives us a great list of the top gadgets you need in your kitchen. I wish she would’ve included some pictures, because I have no idea what some of those kitchen gadgets look like (Zester, anyone?). Maybe now you’ll be motivated to download some yummy recipes from Epicurious. Check out Gabrielle Reece’s kitchen tour video too. Via That’s Fit

Remember we told you about colorful Upstage phones debuting at CeBit in Germany earlier this year? Sprint is launching the Samsung Upstage in lipstick red this Monday, June 18. The phone retails for $99 with a two-year service agreement and $50 service credit. Not bad, considering the phone includes and extedned battery wallet, 1.3 megapixel camera/ camcorder, MicroSD slot, Bluetooth, and music player on the other side of the phone interface. The dual-sided phone has been a popular handset, exceeding sales expectations, as well as winning industry awards from CNET, Popular Mechanics and LAPTOP Magazine.

Heck, we dress up our iPods, so why not our phones? StrapYa now has a line of sexy lingerie that are also phone straps. Erokawa (erotic+Kawaii, get it?) undies are kinda cute, kinda tacky. I can’t really decide which one. Available in lacy colors and prints, these little sexy numbers will have him wondering what you’re wearing. via Tokyo Mango

File this under "strange gadgets." Geeksugar highlights the strange USB handbag designed by Russian Designer Dima Komissarov from Plusminus. We’ve seen his infamous inflatable flashbag concept before, but never one this fashionable. Who needs meters when you can just visually see how much more space you have left on your drive, right?
