Oh no they didn’t. I thought it would be a cold day in hell before solar panels actually made their way onto a swimsuit, but I was wrong. A few months ago, we were introduced to the clever, but uncomfortable looking solar bikini created by Andrew Schneider. Although the idea was somewhat exciting, the execution was horrifying. What woman would willingly wear a bikini covered in photo voltaic film? It makes my skin itch, just looking at it.
It appears someone out there thought Andrew was on to something, and decided to fully execute his idea in a more reasonable way. Recenlty, swimming champion Gemma Mengual was spotted walking down the runway sporting the latest solar swimsuit creation by Triumph–and she didn’t look too happy. The strange swimsuit contains embedded solar panels on the front of the suit to harness enough solar power to recharge small gadgets, such as an iPod or cellphone, from a charging chord placed by the hip area. I really doubt these suits are waterproof, or that anyone would be out in the sun long enough to need to recharge their batteries. But whatever the logic, I have to ask you readers: Could solar swimsuits be the next big thing? Would you ever wear one?

The TV remote control can be a pretty elusive device in any home, often disappearing at the most inopportune moments, you’d think it actually has a life of its own. Those who have no need for one of those fancy universal remote controls and yet require a TV remote that won’t get lost anytime soon can check out the Cushion Control solution from Didier and Nicholas. Coming in a set of three pillows, one of these pillows feature the power button, the other controls the volume on your communal box, while the last pillow changes the channels.
Pricing and availability details are unknown, but having the Cushion Control is a pretty neat idea. No word on how it sends signals to the telly, but chances are it will use RF since the Cushion Control set doesn’t look as though there were any IR transmitters embedded within. Just make sure you have a matching bedsheet to go.

Stripping kernels off from a corn can be quite a painstaking task if you don’t have any other tools to use other than your God-given fingers. Thankfully, we have the Kernel Kutter that offers a pretty handy method of removing corn from the cob. all you need to do is slip the expandable stainless steel circular cutter over one end of the cob and deal it one swift stroke, stripping kernels off the ear in an instant. All you need to do is gather those loose kernels up and prepare yet another corn-based meal for the rest of your famished family. I suppose this kitchen gadget comes in handy when you’re an old hand when it comes to making creamed corn, succotash, corn pudding, and salads.
The dishwasher-safe Kernel Kutter currently retails for a mere $8.99, which is a small price to pay considering the amount of time you save in the kitchen.

Have you ever considered breast implants? I never have, mainly because I’m a coward when it comes to uncessary surgical procedures. But if I ever decided to go through a breast augmentation procedure, I’d have to look into Spectrum’s Postoperatively Adjustable Breast Implants. Apparently, the doctor is able to add or remove saline to the final size of the breast implants six months after the initial operation to ensure you’re happy with the end result. The adjustments are small, giving your body time to adjust without leaving ugly stretch marks. To do this, the doctor leaves a small removable fill tube attached to the implant after surgery so he can easily adjust the saline. Once you’re satisfied with the end result, the tube is removed forever. Interesting. But would you still do it?

When the iPod was first released, the whole world drooled over its design and form factor that went down exceptionally well with its signature white color. Five generations later (with many other additions on the side), the iPod Video’s white color has gotten somewhat bland and all too common. The good folks at Amosu decided to release King Midas if but for a while to touch a fair number of iPod Videos before sending him back to a dark, dank dungeon deep in the abyss. These new iPods now come endowed with 24-carat gold along with a mirror finish. Everything else inside remains the same other than the new opulent coat of paint.
Gold versions of the 30GB and 80GB models are now available for purchase at £299 and £399 respectively. Apparently iPod nano versions are also available, but there is no word on how much each of those cost at the moment.

If your sweetheart’s anniversary or birthday is just around the corner and you have absolutely no idea on what to get her, perhaps the Pixel Watch from ODM will be able to do the trick. This is one of the coolest watches that has been released in recent memory as it takes a different approach from all those blinged out timepieces, utilizing an electro luminescent band and a translucent casing that ends up looking extremely unusual and contemporary. Wear this out and you will definitely get questions from total strangers on where they can pick one up.
Other than telling the time in a fashionable manner, the Pixel Watch also displays an on screen animation and a scrolling pattern between 9pm and 3am at the turn of each hour. Don’t ask me why that particular half dozen hours were chosen, but I suppose they had to throw in a feature of some sort to justify its £80 price tag.
