Now this piece of news is definitely freaky - an online MMORPG operator in China (Moliyo) is offering over 120,000 players who have been banned (no thanks to their unethical attempts at boosting their online characters by using bots) the chance to redeem themselves as well as getting their accounts activated again by donating blood. Yes, as long as you are one of those culprits looking for a fast way to the top and want to get back into the good books of Moliyo, all you need to do is turn up at the public blood donation drive which will be held at the city of Nanjing. All locked accounts have been promised to be reopened within three days.
Moliyo hopes that this event will be able to create a civilized society, and enhance online gamers’ appreciation of social responsibility and public welfare. Ordinary players are also qualified to donate their blood on that day in exchange for free accounts. Do you think Blizzard will pull a similar stunt in order to help the government obtain more blood? Even if the opportunity presents itself, would you do it?

There is just something about this mustached rotund plumber and his brother from Italy who possess a worldwide appeal the world has never seen before in terms of video games. Mario and Luigi have appeared in countless adventures together, and most of the time they’re doing their best to save a helpless Princess who seem to be surrounded by extremely lax security, getting kidnapped by Bowser and his cohorts each time. In their mission to rescue Princess Peach from the evil clutches of the reptilian Bowser, both Mario and Luigi have had the honor of knocking their thick skulls against randomly strewn blocks to obtain power ups that go a great length in aiding them along. Who can forget the sounds made each time these blocks are banged by the famous Mario Bros.?
ThinkGeek is now offering Super Mario Sound Blocks that feature sound samples taken directly from the game itself. All you need to do is push their heads and the accompanying sound will follow. You can choose from Mario, Fire Mario, and Luigi for $4.99 a pop. Although the characters might be different, all three of them feature a trio of sounds that are played randomly. You get the famous coin sound, jump, items emerging from a block sound. The fourth sound are exclusive to the character purchased - Mario, Fire Mario, and Luigi are bestowed with the power up sound, shooting a fireball sound, and the 1 Up sound (incidentally my favorite) respectively.

There is just something about interactivity with technology that I find plain sexy, and this fetish with touchscreens has been brought to a new level by the Visual Planet ViP Interactive Poster. In other words, that invention is a touchscreen poster that shares a transparent quality at the same time, bringing interactivity between potential clients and prospects that was never before possible. Imagine hooking one display up at your storefront even when you’re wound up for the night - night owls will still be able to browse through your catalog of products and have certain inquiries answered without the presence of humans around. It also makes your shop much more attractive compared to one that has a standard chalkboard drawing quoting the best prices for the day, giving you a higher chance of securing that sale you crave for so much.
The ViP Interactive Poster is made possible by using a range of holographic or rear projection screens that look clear even under high ambient light conditions. Installation is pretty hassle free, and you won’t need to fix any external wires or devices since all the components are situated behind the glass and safe from the itchy fingers of a vandal. There is no word on pricing, so you’ll have to inquire with the folk within Visual Planet themselves.

Winter is just over and spring has barely started into full swing, but some of us already have thoughts that point toward a nice, hot summer. Imagine three months of nothing but fine weather and sunshine, along with all the mandatory summer activities (and we don’t mean being cooped up in your home mashing buttons on a video game console!!) such as sunbathing, cycling, hiking, and for the younger tots - ice cream! Those of us who love this frozen treat can tell you just how amazing the entire taste and texture melts in the mouth - it is an experience quite like no other. Serious ice cream lovers often spend a huge chunk of their money on it, so why not take the road less traveled and make your own ice cream?
The Cuisinart Mix It In Ice Cream Maker is capable of churning out your very own frozen concoctions with an added bonus - it is also capable of mixing in whatever topping you fancy. Oreos, M&Ms, Ovaltine, and even raisins are all fair game as it all boils down to your taste and creativity. All you need to do is pull a tab to send your favorite topping down the chute on top of a cone or bowl. It takes approximately 20 minutes to half an hour for a frozen dessert unlike hours as required by our forefathers. The Cuisinart Mix It In Ice Cream Maker retails for a dollar shy of $100.

Ok, I’ll have to apologize to all of the Apple fanboys/girls out there (and there are a lot of them!) but there’s really no reason to be getting the Apple TV. If you have a gaming console, download this free service from Orb, which provides TV access to your PC using the console as a bridge. The setup is easy, it’s just a matter of downloading the software, clicking a few buttons depending on which console you have, and soon after you will be able to view all of your media from your PC straight to your TV. From their website:
- Watch Internet TV, videos or home movies
- See the party photos you just downloaded
- Listen to your MP3 music library
- Monitor the webcam connected to your PC
Visit their website for specific instructions on your gaming console. You can’t beat the price of FREE. Now is that Apple logo really worth the $300?

I am sure that many of us by now would have built up a pretty impressive collection of CDs and DVDs, but somehow or rather displaying them on a rack just doesn’t quite make the cut any more due to the lack of space. If you don’t have that much of an emotional attachment to your CD and DVD jewel cases, you can always remove their content and index them into the BlueDot Divita BDM-100S storage tower. This high-end CD and DVD storage system can hold up to a hundred discs and accessed via the high resolution 1.6" color TFT display and number pad. The only problem would be indexing each disc - you will have to manually enter the information via the number pad one by one before reaping the benefits of such a system.
You can choose from three colors - silver, silver, and silver. Those who are interested in the BlueDot Divita BDM-100S will have to part with $489 of their hard earned cash in exchange for a comprehensive disc storage system that saves a whole lot of space in your home. This will definitely come in handy for those who live in already crammed apartments and need every square inch possible.

Sure we’ve seen a bunch of clocks that come in all sorts of shapes and sizes before, but how many of them actually reflect the time off a pair of spectacles? Good old Beethoven who turned deaf and composed some of his best work after that has been immortalized in a white bust, but with a twist. This Beethoven bust sports a pair of Vuarnet style sunglasses that would have made him quite the ladies man if he were alive today. The pair of sunglasses are not just meant to make him fashionable and identify with the current generation, but they also help you tell the time with the hour display on his right lens while minutes are displayed on his left.
Only a hundred of these have been produced, so you can expect to fork out much more than the average bust. I have a feeling deep down inside that this will be the first of many historical figures sporting a pair of sunglasses, reminding us that even the greatest people who have walked the face of earth cannot stand up against the unstoppable tide of time.

They say that a picture speaks a thousand words, but I think that this picture you see above definitely mouths off much more than that figure. It is not only interesting to see Alice (of the Wonderland fame) standing with her back facing you, contemplating on the many empty chairs in front of her despite hosting a tea party, but what makes the entire artwork even more enticing is the fact that Alice and her surroundings were actually cut out and folded from the pages of the Alice in Wonderland book itself.
I received the image from one of the many random forwards in my e-mail, but you can head on to the FoolzParadize forum and check out where it all began. There are more than just a single variation, and some of them involve a bed of flowers with the background as an index list of all flowers, while the Pied Piper storybook opens up to reveal cut-outs of the man himself holding on to a string of children, leading them out of the ungrateful town. Who says creativity is dead?

The cool ladies over at GeekSugar sent a Q & A my way last week (turns out I’m a Geeky Girl They Heart), asking me a fun questions about hobbies, gadget luxuries in life, and the top sexiest male and female geeks (one of my picks was Jason Chen for sticking gadgets down his pants). I had a lot of fun answering it, just like I did with Born Rich’s interview, so now I’d like to interview you, the readers.
I’d love to know who do you think is the world’s Sexiest Geek of all time and why? Best answer wins a $50 gift certificate from the store of their choice. Submit your nominations below, and may the best geek win. Our editors will pick a winner next Friday. Good Luck!
Update: And the winner is…LEAH. Our editors felt her response about Chief Geek Robert Stephens was great. What’s sexier than a good boss who care about his employees?
Robert Stephens. The Founder and Chief Inspector of Geek Squad. He makes technology fun and really cares about his employees. He makes working for the Geek Squad feel like being a part of a family instead of a huge company. I’ve never met him, but there are plenty of videos/pictures online of this man and I can tell he is intelligent, passionate, funny and adorable. He definately gets my vote!!!

Do you spend a lot of time… on your knees? Hope those prayers are being answered, or it’s back on your knees again. But don’t worry, the cold floor’s got nothing on you now that Vavolo’s figured out a way to keep them warm. Forget leg warmers, knee pads,or knee-socks, because Warmmi USB knee pads hook up to your computer to heat those ugly things right up. For $20, you can officially call yourself the, uhm, trendiest geek in town.
