Why Buy Apple TV?

Posted on 24 March 2007 by Felicia Sanchez

Appletv Ok, I’ll have to apologize to all of the Apple fanboys/girls out there (and there are a lot of them!) but there’s really no reason to be getting the Apple TV. If you have a gaming console, download this free service from Orb, which provides TV access to your PC using the console as a bridge. The setup is easy, it’s just a matter of downloading the software, clicking a few buttons depending on which console you have, and soon after you will be able to view all of your media from your PC straight to your TV. From their website:

  • Watch Internet TV, videos or home movies
  • See the party photos you just downloaded
  • Listen to your MP3 music library
  • Monitor the webcam connected to your PC

Visit their website for specific instructions on your gaming console.  You can’t beat the price of FREE. Now is that Apple logo really worth the $300?

But you have to have XP or Vista, right? It would be nice if it worked with OS X.

  2. John M Says:

That’s all well and good if you have a PC and I’d love to try it, but there’s no Mac client. :(

I am agreeing with the two comments above. It would be nice to have Orb Macintosh compatable. Maybe that’s why Apple makes it, and not ATI or somebody else.
