MP3 Bike Player with Speakers

Posted on 16 November 2006 by Cat

One of my favorite catalogs is Hammacher Schlemmer. They also have the new cool techie gadgets. However they have this new MP3 player for your bike and has speakers too!! Or you can use it with your headphones. It is a 1GB MP3 flash player that attaches to any bike that has 1" frame tube. The player also has an SD/MMC memory card slot. It requires 4 AAA batteries . It can be synced with your Mac or PC with the USB cable. Another cool thing about this $130 product, is that it is water resistant too!!

A Real All-In-One Card Reader

Posted on 15 November 2006 by Annie-san

I think the Brando all-in-one card reader is truly an over the top idea.  In fact, it is useless to me because I still use the SmartMedia Card.  Call me old fashioned, whatever.  But this 55 in 1 card reader has every single card that I can think of covered but does NOT happen to have a SmartMedia Card reader included.  Isn’t that amazing?

I know many feel that those cards are going by the wayside technologically but if you are going to create a 55 in 1 reader, why not go for 56?

Might be useful for someone though and it is definitely worth the cost if you have many different cards to sort through and read.  Take a peek and you tell me if you think it would replace your favorite card reader…

USB 2.0 and compatible with both PC and Mac.  Plug and play installation makes this much easier to work with than some printers with card readers, too.

Toshiba GigaBeat MP3

Posted on 13 November 2006 by Annie-san

Toshiba has unveiled the GigaBeat MP3 player and it’s packed with similar features to the iPod.  With 1.1" OLED displays, both models will be attractive to buyers.  A 1GB P10K and a 2GB P20K are revealed with built in FM tuners.  Also they have USB connections to make it easier to transfer music from computer to player.

In addition, they have 5 preset EQ modes, voice recorder and around 14 hours of audio playback.  They will be available next month in Japan.  Pricing is from around $120 for the smaller capacity and $150 for the larger capacity.

One nice feature is that the front face can be removed and replaced with a more personalized design.  Who doesn’t like that?

Black Friday Shopper’s Guide

Posted on 12 November 2006 by Techie Diva

Blackfriday Black Friday fans get your wallets ready, and prepare for the most chaotic shopping day of the holiday season. This is the one day when your dreams of finding $100 computers may come true. Don’t think the idea is too far fetched. One Best Buy ad says Celeron E-Machines with a 15" LCD will be selling for $189. Trust me, it’s time to create your electronics hunting gameplay to find gear at dirt cheap prices, while fighting little grannies to get em’ first. To prepare for this event, I learned from Kotaku, that the site Black Friday Ads has scanned ads of Black Friday sales from major retailers including Circuit City, Best Buy, Toys "R" Us and Wal-Mart. Also check out Gotta Deal and Black Friday Ads. You better start planning your store camp-out now.

Nintendogs Plushies

Posted on 12 November 2006 by Techie Diva

NintendogsThe Nintendogs are so cute, you just want to reach inside the game and pet one. That wish just came true, at least in the UK where the Nintendog plushies hit Amazon UK and other retailers. Two versions are available: A once trick doggy called Trick Trainer pup that comes with a magnetic bone, and Interactive Play pluppies that wag their tails when you stroke them, howl when you howl, and growl when playing tug games.  [DSFanboy]

See them in action after the jump…

iPulse Bear

Posted on 12 November 2006 by Annie-san

Christmas is coming soon and I’m already shopping for iPod accessories for my children.  I have found some very cute things and plan to review them here.  One of the great gifts I saw was from Sharper Image.  They feature the iPulse Bear Speaker System with a lightshow for extra entertainment.

At $39.95 this is one of the more affordable choices for iPod owners.  Mostly for a younger crowd, but not exclusively for them, the iPod fits into the snuggly bears belly pouch and features a hidden cable for plug-in.  In both white and brown bear colors, the speakers offer both music and the possibility for audio books.

The brown bear leans toward the fuzzy comfortable bear and the white one is more modern and less "cutesy" than the other, leaving you with two excellent choices to fit the age and preferences of the person you are shopping for (or for yourself!).

The green, blue and red LED light show pulses to the music’s rhythm, frequency and volume; his eyes glow blue or green too.

PostworX Has Laptops Sliding

Posted on 12 November 2006 by Annie-san

Do you often take your laptop to places and need to share, pick-up, move and otherwise manipulate it?  Visit the PostWorX site and watch a video about the Twistball.

This gadget is definitely useful and keeps you from grabbing the laptop screen to lift it off a table.  It also allows you the flexibility to share and move the laptop where it is most needed.  Just don’t push too hard…I’d hate to see it slide to the floor.

Twistball is fully removable and they also keep your laptop at a perfect angle for those of us that like to use a slightly elevated keyboard for typing.

They come in several different colors to match your laptop and keep things looking sleek.  You can either remove them or keep them on during use and after.  It is completely up to you.

Zuse Is Toast

Posted on 12 November 2006 by Annie-san

Do you have a need to print images on your toast before eating it?  Could you use a printer device that would burn your logo or message into a piece of toast for you–as a marketing ploy?

Then the Zuse compact toasting device is for you.  With the ability to burn a 12×12 pixel image onto your toasty bread, this printer could be useful.  Not for just anyone though…with a $50 price tag it’s definitely a ‘gadget’ that takes a special person to appreciate.

Jokob Illera of Inseq Design created this masterpiece-on-toast printer as his diploma project at Vienna’s University for Applied Art and is in discussions with companies to bring it to our kitchens.  Would you like your Picasso with jelly?

A Bag For The Active Techie Diva

Posted on 12 November 2006 by Annie-san

Yasmena offers the Yazzy Bag in blue or pink and I think they are both practical and good looking.  For the active, on-the-go girl, this wallet type purse is perfect.  Just wrap the main cord around your wrist and choose to hold the purse either in the palm of your hand or on the top of your hand.  The smaller cord can be looped over a finger for extra support.

Imagine an iPod and some cash for coffee or a drink while driving around town.  Your hands are full with a laptop bag and other gadgets and you want somewhere to carry the rest.  Slip your keys into the bag when you enter the store and keep your iPod and smaller items safe in your hand or on the back of it.

I really like the styles they offer and if you visit the shop you will see this basic bag (around $15) and others which feature beaded designs and a mixture of rabbit fur and satin ($30-$60) for a more expensive look or a night out.
