AntQuarium, Found in Amsterdam

Posted on 27 August 2006 by Nick

Antquarium

This cool little antquarium can give you some desktop entertainment. all you need to do is place some ants on the gel surface, and watch them make intricate tunnels. The gel is not toxic and actually contains all nutrients ants need to live. So basically you’re putting them in a bit edible cake!

I found this slightly weird antquarium on a trip to Amsterdam, which is as I recently discovered a great place for cool gadgets and weird-but-useful things. If you happen to be in Amsterdam, or anywhere else in Holland, the store that carries this neat looking ant aquarium is called "Expo". They generally carry slightly off the beaten path stuff, but you will not find too many electronics at this store, except for really strange (alarm) clocks and some other house hold items.

Neil blings Hillary Duff’s DS Lite

Posted on 26 August 2006 by Techie Diva

While hanging out at the Fashion Island Mall in Newport Beach, we came across the Bling Your Thing Kiosk, and guess what we found out? That Newport’s finest Swarovski Crystal designer happened to have blinged Hillary Duff’s Nintendo DS Lite for her Sims appearance. Pretty cool. Check out the video.

You can contact Neil from Bling your Thing  at 714-852-2068 or shoot him an email at napcez at sbcglobal.net if you need someone to bling your thing. Neil, thanks for the interview!

MobiBLU Q-Bling Adds Bling Where You Might Not Want It?

Posted on 25 August 2006 by Annie-san

Glancing at the MobiBLU Q-Bling that’s coming out has me wondering if there is a location where diamonds do not belong.  I mean, do you put them on the old frame your grandmother gave you or are they better placed on a new cellphone or displayed on things you use often.

The Q-Bling is not one of the most popular of the MP3 players out there, yet, they have designed it to have lots of ice and striking shine.  But, in this case, is it worth the crystals they put over it?

The MobiBLU has kept the same internal design as the DAH-1500i and simply added a layer of genuine Swarovski crystals to add some bling.  They come in blue, pink and silver and seem to have matching headphones as well.  The price has gone up $60 more for the bling so it’s up to you to decide if you’d invest in this for the ice.

Swivel-Screen MP3 Player

Posted on 25 August 2006 by Annie-san

I’m not sure what use the swivel-screen on this MP3 player is for, except to make it look much cooler than your friends’ MP3 player, and sometimes that’s enough.  The Newman M790 MP3 Player with a swivel-screen look fantastic.  I think the whole reason behind the option of this screen is design.

Sometimes it makes no sense WHY they do it, but it does make it look better, neater, newer…

If you look at the Newman for design, it’s definitely got that.  It also has a 30×240 screen display, color of course.

It also has a good amount of internal memory at 512MB, not your "holds every song I love" type of player, but it does compete with others on the market.  It supports MP3 and WMA files but it’s only USB 1.1 compliant.  Makes for slower transfers to and from the machine.

That should definitely be looked at by the creators.

My source says it will be available sometime in August.

Lazy Email Readers

Posted on 24 August 2006 by Keisha

Are you one of those people who are too busy to read your email? If only you had a friend or something to read them to you. The E-puppy is a cheap way to accomplish this. Plug this puppy to your USB port and you are all set. He will read emails, word documents and other text files. There is also an LED on his chest to signify that there are new emails to be read, err listened too. The best thing about this is the price. You can pick one up for $9.97.

iCush @ Teen Choice Awards

Posted on 24 August 2006 by Techie Diva

Stacy gave me a demonstration of the new Homedics iCush which should be in stores soon. The iCush is a portable cushion that syncs sound directly to massage vibes allowing the user to feel the sound from music, video games or movies. Kevin Federline sat down in the iCush and they turned on his new song.  He laughed, and said “No, no – turn it off.  I don’t want to hear it!”  Then he had a lot of fun listening to Kelly Clarkson. See what other celebs thought of the iCush:
