CES Download: Two-Ways to share an LCD

Posted on 10 January 2006 by Techie Diva

Wouldn’t it be nice to eliminate the need for multiple televisions by sharing one display to watch TV and surf the internet at the same time? Sharp is on to something with this two-way viewing angle LCD. This panel works in dual-mode to display simultaneously two crystal-clear, high-quality images with no intermingling, or in single-mode so everyone sees the same program. This technology is only available in Japan, and according to one Sharp representative, it may be available at the end of this year right here in the States. Sound would be transmitted to each viewer accordingly, but it’s something the company continues to work on. How would this technology help in your household?
