CES Download: Entertaible for Hours of Social Fun

Posted on 10 January 2006 by Techie Diva

Board games may soon be taken to the next level thanks to a new breed of electronic digital tables. Netherlands based Philips Electronics unveiled at CES a new concept that will have board gamers upgrading to a whole new technology. The Entertaible (not a spelling error) tabletop gaming platform seeks to combine the social element of board games and the excitement of electronic games. The existing prototype has a 30-inch touch-screen LCD display built into a table, and interacts with multiple players by using dice, pawns or even their fingers. Some enhancements to this working model include the ability to physically store games, digitize classic board games, and internet download functionality. Are you ready to upgrade your board game classics or keep it old school?
